Convertible with a soft roof. In November, two thousand and eighteenth, Bavarians presented the BMW 8-Series Convertible 2019. This is a cabriolet in the back with the G14 index based on the eighth series coupe shown earlier. The car received a soft multi-layered roof, which can rise or fold in 15 seconds at a speed of up to 48 km / h.

At the stern of the model, there are narrow LED lights and a pair of large trapezoid pipes of the exhaust system. Alloy M-rims with corresponding brakes, which can be recognized by the presence of blue painted calipers, are installed on the wheels of the car.

For customers interested in a more aggressive design, an optional M Carbon Exterior package has been prepared, from whose name it is not difficult to guess that it included carbon inserts. The latter will appear in the air intakes, mirror housings and diffuser.

The interior design of the BMW 8-series cabriolet 2019 again repeats the same on the coupe, except for the presence of several new buttons from which the roof and deflectors are built into the backs of the front seats.

The latter are offered as an option and provide a flow of warm air to the necks of the passengers, and their intensity of work automatically increases as speed increases. The car’s interior is trimmed with Merino Individual leather by default and is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital tidy screen and a 10.25-inch multimedia display.

In terms of equipment of the BMW 8-series, the convertible has a projection display, ambient lighting, a Harman Kardon audio system with 12 speakers and a windscreen. Plus, the new model boasts the presence of a M Sport steering wheel and heated sports seats.

The model is based on the CLAR modular platform with a double-lever suspension at the front and a five-lever rear. But compared to the original coupe, the elastokinetics and wheel alignment are slightly modified, and elements were added to the chassis design itself to increase the overall rigidity.

The overall length of the BMW 8-er G14 cabriolet is 4,851 mm (4,843 mm for the diesel version), the wheelbase is 2,822, its width is 1,902, and its height is 1,345 (at 840d it is 1,339). Thus, the car turned out literally 1-2 millimeters below the coupe.

But the weight has increased more significantly — the increase was 125 kg (diesel version weighs 2,030 kg, gasoline — 2 090). The boot capacity here is 350 liters (- 70 liters), while the back of the second row can be folded, providing access to the luggage compartment directly from the cabin.

Under the hood of the BMW 840d xDrive Convertible there is an in-line 3.0-liter “six” on heavy fuel, developing 320 hp. and 680 Nm of torque. It takes 5.2 seconds to disperse hundreds of such versions, which is 0.3 seconds. longer compared to a similar coupe modification.

The top-end BMW M850i ​​Convertible is driven by a 4.4-liter twin turbo V8, delivering 530 “horses” and 748 Nm. Petrol Kubrick shoots from a spot to a hundred in 3.9 seconds (-0.2), and the maximum speed of both modifications is electronically limited at 250 km / h.

Note that both engines are paired with an eight-band automatic machine that transmits all-wheel drive through the xDrive all-wheel drive system. Among other technical features, the adaptive M-suspension and integral active steering, which provides higher maneuverability, deserve to be mentioned.

For the new BMW 8-series G14 cabriolet there are many electronic assistants available, including active cruise control with a start / stop system, keeping the car in the lane, tracking blind spots, collision avoidance with automatic braking and much more.

Plus, there is a roll-over protection system that, in case of danger, is capable of pushing two aluminum beams in a fraction of a second. Options include front-seat ventilation, as well as premium Bowers & Wilkins music. The start of car sales is scheduled for the spring of the nineteenth at a price of 9,270,000 rubles for the M850i.
