BMW XM Concept 2023.

Bavarians have unveiled the BMW XM Concept: a pre-production version of the top-of-the-line crossover.

Bavarians have unveiled the BMW XM Concept big sports crossover, the production version of which should appear on the market by the end of 2022.

Notably, this will be only the second model from the M division (after the M1) that has no civilian counterpart.

In addition, this will be the first hybrid from the M division, and for this SUV will be offered a single propulsion system.

Details are still scarce, but we know that the gasoline turbocharged V8 paired with an electric motor will produce a total of 750 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque.

We shall remind you that a couple of the most powerful «charged» BMW X5 M and X6 M of the actual generation in the Competittion version are equipped with a 4.4-liter twin-supercharged V8 developing 625 hp and 750 Nm.

Due to the electric engine in the new M Hybrid setup, the XM SUV will be able to drive up to 80 kilometers on electric power.

The basis of the car is the platform from the flagship BMW X7, but all body panels on the XM are original.

Designers of the brand have created a bold and aggressive look, but once again the appearance was controversial and evokes contradictory emotions.

There is massive brutal front end with huge «nostrils» which are made faceted from now on, narrow upper headlights are running lights and turn signals, whereas the main headlights are lower and camouflaged with dark diffusers.

In general, the BMW XM Concept exterior design uses a lot of sharp edges, the hood has ventilation slots, and above the windshield there are diode spotlights.

Wheel arches and thresholds of the car are protected by black plastic plates, and in the arches rims of 23″.

The crossover’s stern is distinguished by narrow, curved lights, an unusual location and shape of the four exhaust pipes, and two emblems, which are located on either side of the upper part of the rear window.

In the front part of the cabin in front of the driver two large displays (as on the production iX and i4 electric cars), a high central tunnel, creating the impression of a cockpit, and on the second row — the so-called «M Lounge» with a continuous cushioned sofa.

The production version of the BMW XM will certainly be a little simpler, but will not have radical differences from the prototype.

Moreover, the similar design of the front end will pass to a new «seven» and restyled X7 in the future. Production of commercial vehicles will be set up at an enterprise in the United States.
