Cadillac stylists decided to go the unusual route to create this model of the perfect luxury travel convertible, named Ciel, which means «sky» in French.

They were able to combine the modern features and parameters of the car, the proportions of legendary convertibles, with the addition of retro style and a small amount of futurism.

The result was a truly luxurious car, the development of which was carried out from scratch.

The Cadillac four-seat convertible was conceived as a carriage for travelers or leisurely walks of couples along the coast at sunset under the lulling sound of the surf, but this car has not become the first convertible in a four-door design.

Size.

By this parameter, the car can be called one of the largest in its class. It has a huge size of the wheelbase at 3175 mm, 30 cm wider than the sedan CTS (by the way, the Ciel is 67 mm wider than the largest of the now sold by the company sedans — Cadillac DTS).

Its length — 5174 mm, height — 1270 mm (the lowest Cadillac).

Exterior design.

The design of this convertible for travelers is very reminiscent of the already forgotten Cadillac Sixteen.

True, the angular forms were replaced by smooth ones. But, still, a little angularity inherent in the hood with a massive chrome grille, elongated body in the 70’s style combined with modern narrow vertical headlights and LED taillights.

The 22-inch wheels don’t look that big because of the huge size of the car itself.

Interior.

The interior of the car is also designed in a rather luxurious style of the company. Passengers can feel quite comfortable in the bucket-shaped seats.

Features include leather upholstery, olive wood inserts, seasoned with polished aluminum trim and nickel-plated elements.

The console in the front is designed in a minimalist style, with two options for data output — digital and analog.

Separately, it is worth noting that all seats are equipped with cooling and heating. In addition, their design includes retractable blankets to protect against the cold in the evening and at night.

Passengers have built-in boxes at their fingertips that hold a sun screen, sunglasses and a towel. In addition, rear passengers have the option of an aromatherapy session, which can be activated on the central console.

Technical parameters.

If we are talking about the technical filling of the convertible, the Ciel is equipped with a 425-horsepower biturbo version of the 3.6-liter V6 engine from GM with direct injection and an addition in the form of a battery-powered hybrid system.

Conclusion.

The car was demonstrated at a gala celebration of classic models held in Monterey, California, by automotive beauty connoisseurs in Pebble Beach at the traditional annual Concours d’Elegance.
