Cadillac InnerSpace coupe: sofa, TV, drinks and total autonomy.

General Motors Corporation’s premium Cadillac brand has unveiled the InnerSpace unmanned coupe concept at CES in Las Vegas, showing what luxury cars will become in the coming decades.

Last October, GM announced a next-generation autopilot called Ultra Cruise, which will be as capable as Tesla’s advanced Full Self-Driving (FSD) program and will be able to handle 95% of typical road scenarios.

Ultra Cruise system will be available to consumers in 2023 on Cadillac cars, later it will be offered on models of other GM brands.

At CES, General Motors CEO Mary Barra once again colorfully described the outstanding capabilities of Ultra Cruise, and the Cadillac brand showed the ultimate goal of such systems — the InnerSpace coupe, which has no steering wheel and pedals, that is a Level 5 drone that does not require any human involvement.

We have already seen concepts like InnerSpace in Rolls-Royce and Bentley, but Cadillast offers a typically American, slightly excessive and ostentatious idea of a luxury coupe of the future.

In essence, the InnerSpace is a mobile living room with a soft two-seater sofa, in front of which a panoramic wide screen, partially overlapping the windshield, is installed at a distance of about two meters.

For ease of entry and exit, the halves of the sofa slightly rotate toward the swinging doors, while opening the doors part of the roof rises up, so that when landing you do not have to bend down and you can literally flop down on the soft cushions, as on your favorite sofa in your home.

Under the sofa there are retractable sections that allow you to increase the length of the cushions and put your feet on the padded supports.

Under the screen is a dresser with pillows, blankets and slippers. A refrigerated drink bar is built into the door cards.

The trunk is completely separate from the cabin, but it’s also trimmed with soft, feel-good materials.

There is no information about the technical filling of the InnerSpace, but it will hardly interest anyone at level 5 of autonomy.

We only know that the coupe is fully electric and equipped with Goodyear tires with reduced noise level — nothing should distract passengers from resting on board.

The InnerSpace coupe has completed the concepts Cadillac showed at CES last year — six-seat unmanned minivan SocialSpace and single-seat aircraft with a vertical takeoff PersonalSpace (of course, also unmanned).

Thus, Cadillac is forming a whole ecosystem of unmanned vehicles for the future.

Well, probably next year we should wait for the announcement of its own meta universe, in which Cadillac will not only drive and entertain its customers, but literally become part of their lives — business, domestic and intimate. It’s all going to happen, we’ll all be there.
