Chevrolet Trailblazer 2022.

The Trailblazer is no longer a rugged all-terrain vehicle. Two years ago, this name went to an ordinary crossover with a length of 4,413 mm.

The new Chevrolet Trailblazer has a solid body and lightweight platform with a wheelbase of 2640 mm, transverse engine layout, and basic front-wheel drive.

That is, it is a classmate of such cars as the Nissan Qashqai, Volkswagen Taos and Skoda Karoq.

Initially, the crossover made its debut in China, where the SAIC-GM joint venture is engaged in the production of cars.

But since 2020, production of these cars is also conducted in South Korea, including for the U.S. and Canadian markets.

And soon Korean-made parkettes will also appear in Russia! If you don’t count the cars made in Uzbekistan, the Trailblazer will be the most compact and affordable car in Chevrolet’s «American» lineup.

In Russia Chevrolet Trailblazer will be offered only with three-cylinder turbocharged 1.3 engine, which produces 150 hp and 236 Nm.

According to the Vehicle Type Approval, the engine is designed for Ai-95 gasoline. The front-wheel drive version has a V-belt variator and a semi-independent rear suspension.

All-wheel drive modification is equipped with a 9-speed «automatic», the clutch rear axle and rear suspension with the mechanism of Watt (this scheme comes from the old Opel era GM), acceleration time to 100 km / h — 9.2 seconds. Claimed ground clearance — 194 mm.

There are four options to choose from. Basic LS is offered with front-wheel drive only, equipment includes six airbags, air conditioning, regular audio system, cloth interior, heated front seats and 17-inch alloy wheels.

The LT version can have front- or all-wheel drive, leatherette upholstered seats, roof rails, rear Parktronic, an engine start button and keyless entry system.

The Activ and RS versions are offered with all-wheel drive only, and differ in trim and décor.

Trailblazer Activ has «off-road» bumpers, two-tone body painting, combined seat upholstery, climate control, a media system with an 8-inch screen and a set of electronic assists.

The RS version is distinguished by a «sports» bodykit, a different grille, 18-inch wheels and red decor in the cabin.

The package options include ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, rear view camera and Bose sound system with seven speakers.

So far, only the base price has been announced: 1,999,000 rubles, and that’s with a discount for trade-in.

The full price list will be published closer to the start of sales, which is scheduled for September 15, although dealers are ready to accept orders.

Localized single-class is much cheaper: for example, Skoda Karoq 1.4 TSI (150 hp) with an «automatic» costs 1 million 693 thousand rubles, and Nissan Qashqai 2.0 (144 hp) with a variator — from 1 million 789 thousand rubles.
