Ferrari Portofino M: a modernized version of a coupe-convertible Italians have presented an upgraded version of their most affordable model — the coupe-convertible Ferrari Portofino 2021. During the update, the car received the letter “M” in the name, which is short for “Modificato”. Outside, the Ferrari Portofino M remains largely unchanged.

It can be distinguished from the pre-reform version only by a slightly different shape of the side air intakes in the front bumper. Plus, the sports car received a new exhaust system without rear muffler cans, which made it possible to make the rear bumper more lean and install a deep diffuser on it.

The Italians presented an upgraded version of their most affordable model — the Ferrari Portofino 2021 coupe-convertible. During the upgrade, the car received the letter “M” in its name, which is an abbreviation for “Modificato”. Outside, the Ferrari Portofino M remains largely unchanged.

Plus, the sports car received a new exhaust system without rear muffler cans, which made it possible to make the rear bumper more lean and install a deep diffuser on it.

The changes in the two-door cabin were also subtle: a 10.25-inch display of the multimedia system with an additional 7.0-inch screen on the passenger side is still installed here.

The Ferrari Portofino M is powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which was boosted to 620 hp during the upgrade. (+ 20), although the torque did not change at the same time — the previous 760 Nm, and the engine gives them only in the seventh and eighth gears.

Interestingly, the engine received a particulate filter, the use of which is due to the desire of Italians to comply with modern economic standards.

The engine is now working in tandem with a modern eight-speed gearbox with two clutches, while it was decided to abandon the previous seven-band robot.

The new gearbox is familiar to fans of the brand by the Roma model.

The latter is not only 20% more compact than its predecessor, but is also capable of withstanding 35% higher torque — up to 1,200 Nm.

The modernization did not affect the weight of the two-door in any way: it weighs 1,545 kg when dry, and 1,664 kg when loaded. As for the dynamics, the car accelerates from zero to a hundred in 3.45 seconds (- 0.05). The bar from 0-200 km / h is given in 9.8 seconds, and the maximum speed is over 320 km / h.

Note that the brake drive was also improved on the model, which made it possible to make the pedal travel 10% less.

In addition, the Ferrari Portofino M boasts new driving modes, switching between which is carried out with the corresponding selector on the steering wheel. Previously, these presets were three (Comfort, Sport and ESC Off), and now there are five of them.

Two new ones are called «Wet» (for driving on a wet road) and «Race» (the most extreme settings are used). The start of sales of the upgraded Ferrari Portofino M model is scheduled for the spring of 2021, the price starts at 206,000 euros (18.2 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
