Haval Dargo 2022. Haval DaGou crossover will enter foreign markets with a different name and a new look.

Intended for sale outside of China, the SUV has acquired a different «face».

In native China this crossover Haval debuted in 2020, there it is called DaGou, that is Big Dog or «Big Dog».

It was already clear that for the export version will come up with another name, but here it is curious that one of the first reported it Russian website: not so long ago the portal «Chinese Cars» wrote with reference to the certification documents that in Russia the model may appear under the name Dargo.

Then a local division of Haval began to mention Dargo in its press releases, not specifically dedicated to our market, but to the activities of the concern Great Wall as a whole. But only now the global office of the company has declared officially: yes, outside of China the crossover will be sold as Dargo.

And the first public demonstration of the foreign version took place at the auto show in Saudi Arabia, and this SUV has other features.

Haval Dargo is differed from DaGou for China by the design of the front end: export crossover received a new, more impressive grille and a different front bumper.

The shape of headlights has been also changed, in addition they are merged with the grille, while LED «rings» remained. At the time of publication of the news has shared only a few pictures of Dargo, and those monotonous and of poor quality.

Judging by pictures of foreign media, retouched the rear bumper.

At the moment we do not know if the new dodger had an impact on the length of the crossover, the Chinese DaGou has 4620 mm, wheelbase — 2738 mm, the claimed ground clearance — 200 mm.

Inside, Dargo has repeated its brother, the main «chips» are the multimedia system with rounded on one side touchscreen, virtual «dashboard» with a visor, vertical air deflectors and a washer instead of a traditional lever of the box.

Otherwise, the list of equipment is also likely to be the same as the Haval DaGou, which means that adaptive cruise control, auto braking, lane-keeping and blind spot monitoring systems, all-around vision cameras, projection display are provided for the Dargo.

According to preliminary data, the crossover has also shared the motor range with the Chinese version. It is about petrol «turbo four» 1.5 and 2.0, on Haval DaGou they deliver 169 and 211 hp, respectively.

Both engines are combined with seven-speed robotized transmission with two clutches.

In China, the crossover with the base engine is only front-wheel drive, for the model with a two-liter engine is a four-wheel drive with Haldex clutch on the rear axle.

In Saudi Arabia, sales of Haval Dargo will begin in the near future, then the SUV will appear in other countries in the Middle East, as well as in South America.

As for Russia, for us Dargo officially has not yet been announced, but according to unofficial information, the decision to take the SUV on the Russian market has already been made, and the model may «register» in the Tula factory Havaele.
