Hennessey gave birth to the production Venom F5: a hypercar with over 1,800 hp.
In mid-December of the twentieth year, Hennessey Special Vehicles finally presented the production version of the Venom F5 hypercar, the name of which is a reference to the Fujita scale used to assess the destructive power of tornadoes (the most powerful of them are assigned the F5 class).

Compared to the previously shown prototype, the commercial version of the Hennessey Venom F5 received a slightly simplified aerodynamic body kit, due to which the drag coefficient here is 0.39 (-0.06).

However, for a surcharge of $ 100,000 for the model, the Track Package is offered, which returns a more aggressive front splitter to the body kit, as well as a huge rear wing.

The production Hennessy Venom F5 is fitted with 19- and 20-inch forged wheels with 265/35 and 345/30 Michelin Pilot Cup Sport 2 tires front and rear, respectively.

The interior of the hypercar has received leather trim and rich carbon fiber decor. The car has a digital tidy with a 7.0-inch display, as well as a 10.0-inch monitor of the Alpine multimedia system.

We should also note the steering wheel, the shape of which resembles aircraft steering wheels. There are numerous buttons on it that allow, for example, to switch between the wipers and lighting modes. The overall length of the machine is 4 666 mm, width — 1 971 mm.

The model is based on an ultra-strong carbon fiber monocoque. It weighs only 86 kg, while its torsional rigidity reaches as much as 52,000 Nm / deg.

Interestingly, most of the body of the two-door is made of carbon fiber, while the roof and subframes are aluminum. The widespread use of composite materials made it possible to keep the vehicle weight at the level of 1,385 kg.

The Hennessy Venom F5 is powered by a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. This unit has a cast iron block, aluminum cylinder heads, and titanium intake valves and Inconel exhaust valves.

Interestingly, the turbocharger housings are made of titanium using 3D printing technology. The turbines themselves are capable of generating pressures up to 1.6 bar.

The engine is said to weigh 280kg, but the most interesting thing is its performance. Engine power on the Venom F5 hypercar is announced at 1,842 hp. at 8,000 rpm and 1,617 Nm at 5,500 rpm. By the way, more than 83% of thrust is available after 2,000 rpm, and the motor can be spinned up to 8,500 rpm.

The engine is paired with a seven-speed CIMA robot with one clutch. The hypercar has a rear-wheel drive and limited slip differential.

From a spot to a hundred Hennessey Venom F5 is capable of “shooting” in 2.6 seconds. Acceleration to 200 km / h is possible in 4.7 seconds, up to 300 km / h in 8.4 seconds, and up to 400 km / h in 15.5 seconds.

The maximum speed has not yet been advertised, but it should be above 500 km / h. Interestingly, earlier John Hennessy promised a top speed of 540 km / h, but the company decided to focus on handling. At the same time, the developers still announced that they plan to set a new world speed record.

A special race in accordance with all the rules will take place on the NASA runway, but then the hypercar will also pass along the blocked section of the regular road. Note that for the model, five modes of driving electronics are declared: Sport, Track, Drag, Wet and F5. The latter is the most extreme.

It is activated only when reaching 225 km / h and allows you to accelerate to the highest speeds. Owners of hypercars will be able to use it only after passing special driving courses at the Hennessey test site in Texas, while this preset will be locked for newly purchased cars.

The American hypercar received an independent suspension with double wishbones, which has adjustable compression and rebound Penske shock absorbers with external shock absorbers. It is known that the ground clearance at the front can vary from 75 to 140 mm, and at the rear from 85 to 160 mm.

Safe braking from high speeds is designed to provide carbon-ceramic brakes: six-piston calipers and 390-mm rotors are installed on the front of the car, and four-piston mechanisms are installed at the rear. Another feature of the hypercar is the stainless steel and Inconel exhaust system.

So far, Hennessey Special Vehicles have built only one production copy of the Venom F5, which is located in England.

In total, the company plans to produce 24 such machines, and half of them will be sold in the United States, and the rest will be distributed around the world. By the way, 12 cars have already been pre-ordered, although the price tag cannot be called affordable — from $ 2.1 million (about 154.2 million rubles).
