Hyundai Custo minivan: smaller than the Kia Carnival, also with a claim to «crossover».

This van Hyundai lit up on the spy photos last year, and in March patent images of novelty have appeared in the Network.

The Hyundai Custo has a length of 4,950 mm, width of 1,850 mm, height of 1,734 mm and a wheelbase of 3,055 mm. The new Kia Carnival is larger, the dimensions of basic version: 5155/1995/1740 mm, distance between axles — 3090 mm.

Interior Custo we have seen before paparazzi photos, the main «chip» — a multimedia system with a vertical touchscreen, as in the second-generation of Hyundai ix25 (so in China calls the Creta).

Van also received a steering wheel in the style of the latest Sonata and Elantra, a virtual «dashboard and two-storey center tunnel, and instead of the traditional lever of the box was installed a washer.

Also the minivan received two sunroof, 17- or 18-inch wheels and all-around cameras. According to preliminary data, the MPV will be offered in six- and seven-seat versions.

Two engines are claimed for Hyundai Custo, they are familiar from other local models of the brand: gasoline «turbo four» 1.5 (factory index G4FS) and 2.0 (G4NN), they produce 170 and 236 hp respectively.

Transmission is not specified by the certifying body, about a drive also not a word, however, Custo surely is only front-wheel drive. By the way, the specifications of a local version of the new Kia Carnival also appeared in the base of the Ministry of Industry, so this model will be available for Chinese with the same two-liter turbo engine.

Hyundai itself has not announced a new minivan yet. Meanwhile, next week will open the Shanghai Auto Show — it is possible that there will be the premiere of the Custo.

Outside the Chinese market, this MPV probably won’t make it.

Hyundai unveiled the new minivan, dubbed the Custo, late this summer, and production of the car began in early September.

Now it has become known that they have opened sales of the novelty in China, revealing its prices. The car is one and a half times cheaper than the price of its co-owner Kia Carnival.

In dimensions Hyundai Custo is little more compact than its relative from Kia lineup.

The length of the all-terrain vehicle for the Chinese market is 4,950 mm, width — 1850 mm, height — 1734 mm, and the size of its wheelbase is equal to 3055 mm.

The model is based on the same architecture that was used to create the last generation of «Carnival». Custo inherited the engine lineup from the coplatformer.

In the initial complete set minivans for China got 1,5-liter «turbo four» capacity of 170 horsepower and 253 Nm.

More expensive versions will be offered with a 2-liter diesel engine with an output of 236 «powers» and 353 Nm. Both power units are equipped with 8-band automatic transmission without any alternatives. Front-wheel drive only.

First on the market will be a seven-seat version of the Custo with a seating arrangement of 2 + 3 + 2.

Later, it will be joined by a richer version with two separate seats on the second row, equipped with armrests and footrests.

Prices for the minivan start from 175,800 yuan, or 2 million rubles at the current exchange rate.

For comparison, the minimum cost in Celestial Empire co-branded Kia Carnival is 288,900 yuan or (3 million 250 thousand rubles).
