Hyundai now makes race cars: meet the Elantra N TCR for the ring.

Hyundai Motorsport has brought the Elantra N TCR sedan, designed specifically for circuit racing, to the 2020 Beijing Auto Show.

The Koreans note that the premiere of the model was preceded by three months of continuous tests, during which the four-door drove about 5,000 km on various tracks in Europe.

Externally, the new Elantra N TCR differs from the regular version of the model by the presence of an aerodynamic body kit with a pronounced front splitter and a fixed rear wing.

The car also received plump fenders and new wheels. Interestingly, a similar body kit in the future can be used on the civilian Elantra N, which is in development.

The chassis settings on the presented four-door have been revised in favor of sportier ones. The front-wheel drive car is set in motion by a modified version of the two-liter turbo engine.

Its power is not advertised, but it works in tandem with a six-speed gearbox with paddle shifters, which is also equipped with the racing i30 N TCR and Veloster N TCR.

In the near future, the Koreans will continue testing the Hyundai Elantra N TCR, but promise to open accepting orders for the sedan by the end of 2020.

The novelty can be purchased by racing teams around the world, but how much it will cost is unknown.

Korean automaker Hyundai has unveiled the Elantra N TCR 2021, a professional circuit racing model in the WTCC series.

The car was created by Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing on the basis of the Hyundai Elantra sedan. During the tests, the car covered 5,000 kilometers on several tracks throughout Europe.

The novelty has an aerodynamically optimized body kit with a large front splitter and a fixed rear wing, as well as wide fenders to accommodate wider wheels.

Specifications The novelty has front-wheel drive and is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, borrowed from the family of Hyundai road models.

Engine power is not reported, however, according to TCR rules, it can be a maximum of 340 hp. and 410 Nm.

The power unit is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox with paddle shifters.
The 2021 Hyundai Elantra N TCR will begin shipping to customers at the end of the year.
