Hyundai ioniq 6 2022.

A family of electric cars Hyundai soon will be updated with a new model Ioniq 6, which in the form of a prototype has been repeatedly seen on the road tests.

According to assurances of the developers, during the creation of sedan Hyundai Ioniq 6 2022 model year based on the concept Prophecy (title photo), which showed the Koreans in the spring of 2020.

That concept demonstrated the design and ideology of future electric models of the brand, and then all observers noted some similarity of the exterior of the show car, especially in its front end, with the classic Porsche 911.

To be fair, it should be noted that the Prophecy concept was announced as an unmanned car that does not have the usual steering wheel.

Mass-production electric sedan Ioniq 6 is obviously far from such advanced technologies, probably that is why it did not borrow much from the conceptual version externally.

By the way, this was confirmed by spy photos: even in profile the car did not resemble Porsche, leaving the contours of a sedan more typical, albeit noticeably streamlined.

Also, do not forget that the «sixth» Ioniq is the second model of the brand after the Ioniq 5, presented as a crossover.

Both cars will have the same electric platform, which theoretically makes them similar enough and their technical «stuffing».

While the Hyundai Ioniq 6 2022 model year is preparing for its debut, designers continue to gradually remove the masking covers from the body. The most recent photos clearly show the roof lines, side glazing, as well as front and rear struts.

The manufacturer didn’t hide the design of the wheel rims, and the fact that the rear doors will open along the road, not against, as in the concept.

At the same time, a rather large rear overhang and the presence of a design on it, reminiscent of a spoiler, draws attention.

The side mirrors will be traditional instead of cameras, and recessed into the body door handles.

Interior

Like the Ioniq 5, which showcases a futuristic interior design with a minimum of attributes on the front panel, the sister sedan Hyundai Ioniq 6 also promises two large displays and a small, adjoining panel at the bottom with a few touch buttons.

The sedan, too, will likely lack the center tunnel elevation, which will be replaced by a modest overhead with cup holders.

And since the side mirrors will be replaced by cameras, there will be no need for displays, which were previously planned to be placed directly on the door cards.

Technical features and specifications

Modular E-GMP platform will go not only to Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, but also several electric models of Kia and Genesis.

Unfortunately, the manufacturers have not officially disclosed any characteristics of engines, but it does not cancel the existence of insider information.

According to the latest unofficial news, the most powerful four-wheel drive «six» will have two electric motors that will provide acceleration to 100 km/h in a relatively modest (for electric cars) 5.2 seconds.

Obviously, in this case, the main emphasis is on the range of electric car, while the «hot» version can offer the same Hyundai N, which will sacrifice the range in favor of significantly better dynamics.

Hyundai Ioniq 6: When will it be released in Russia?

Electric sedan Hyundai Ioniq 6 should go on sale very soon — in 2022, as evidenced by the active road tests of the model on the DOP.

After another 2 years on the market should be the largest crossover brand — Ioniq 7, although until then its large SUV’s on the platform of E-GMP can show engineers Kia and Genesis.
