Lamborghini has unveiled its most powerful hypercar ever.
The novelty is called the successor of Miura Jota and Diablo GTR. Its owners will unite in a closed racing club.

Lamborghini has officially unveiled the Essenza SCV12 track hypercar. Its technical characteristics were disclosed more than a month ago, and the coupe design was no longer a big secret, but today we received full-fledged photos and videos and learned all the details of this project.

According to CEO Stefano Domenicali, the Essenza SCV12 is the best the company has to offer to track racers today. The novelty, developed by the Lamborghini Squadra Corse division and the Lamborghini Centro Stile factory design studio, is called the direct successor of the Miura Jota and Diablo GTR models.

The hypercar has received the most powerful naturally aspirated V12 ever installed on a Lamborghini: thanks to aerodynamic supercharging, the engine develops over 830 hp at high speeds.

The Capristo exhaust system gives the unit a special sound. By comparison, the brand’s most powerful civilian car is considered to be the 819-horsepower Sian hybrid, but the Essenza SCV12 can only be used on racetracks.

The engine is mated to a new six-speed sequential gearbox, which serves as a supporting function for the rear suspension. Thanks to the original carbon monocoque, Essenza’s power to weight ratio is 1.66 hp. for 1 kg.

The hypercar’s advanced aerodynamic body kit, incorporating elements from the Huracan Super Trofeo Evo and Huracan GT3 Evo, generates 1200 kg of downforce at 250 km / h — more than a GT3 race car. Among other things, the SCV12 was the first GT car to meet FIA prototype requirements.

The design of the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12, based on 1970s prototypes, contains many of the brand’s typical hex and Y design elements. The exclusive liveries feature the logos of the company’s longtime racing partners: Pertamina, Pirelli and Roger Dubuis.

The multifunction steering wheel is inspired by the steering wheels of Formula 1 cars and the seat is FIA homologated with a carbon frame.

The manufacturer has confirmed that the Essenza SCV12 will be limited to 40 pieces. The owners will become members of a private racing club with private garages in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Starting next year, they will start organizing special events on various tracks around the world.

The package also includes driver training such as professional Lamborghini pilots, track support and more. Among other things, it will be possible to monitor your car in the garage around the clock through a special application.

The company did not disclose the price of the hypercar, but it is probably expressed in seven figures.

The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 hypercar was born for the track.

The new track hypercar, developed by the Squadra Corse division, is named Essenza SCV12 and the most powerful aspirated V12 6.5 in Lamborghini history.

The recoil of the motor is still designated as «more than 830 forces.» The curb weight has not yet been announced, but it is known that the power density is 1.66 hp / kg.

The rear-wheel drive hypercar is limited to 40 units, with sales starting in 2021, and owners will be included in an «exclusive club» that will offer them special racing programs on «the most prestigious circuits in the world.»

The creators took into account all the requirements of the FIA for racing prototypes. The carbon fiber monocoque eliminates the need for a safety cage in the cabin.

The push-arm rear suspension is mounted directly on the X-trac six-speed sequential, meaning the gearbox is the power element of the chassis. The brake discs and calipers were supplied by Brembo Motorsport.

The exhaust system was prepared by Capristo Exhaust. The different sizes of slick tires (19 «front, 20 rear) are made by Pirelli and are fitted on magnesium wheels.

A new hangar has been built for the aforementioned club in Sant’Agata, in which each of the forty hypercars will have an individual garage with special services.

Customers will be able to control their cars at any time of the day or night through webcam broadcasts in the mobile application. The training will be conducted by the five-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans Emanuel Pirro and Squadra Corse pilot Marco Mapelli.
