Italian automaker Lamborghini has unveiled a new version of its first production hybrid, the Sian Roadster. Externally, the car can be distinguished by the lack of a roof. There are no other changes to the exterior of the roadster.

There was no Ferrari at the Frankfurt show this year. But this did not cause any bitter regrets at all. The public’s attention was monopolized by the Lamborghini Sian — a supercar against which, if not everything, then a lot fades.

Curl Your Fingers: First, this is the world’s first production hybrid Lambo. But this is not the most important thing, because Sian is also the most powerful, and fastest, and most expensive car in the history of the company.

Accordingly, 819 «horses», acceleration to hundreds in 2.8 seconds with a maximum speed of 350 km / h and $ 2.5 million of the base price, which can be easily transformed into even more than 150 million rubles.

If this is not enough, mind you — the author of the design of this «Lamba» is a man with a simple Russian name Mitya.

In fact, Mitya Borkert is from Germany, but he has a Russian name for a reason — Mitya’s dad taught Russian.

And there is something warming in the fact that this crazy supercar carries at least a tiny part of the Russian soul. Is not it so?!

On the one hand, Sian’s design is such a typical, stereotypical «Lamborghini». Wedge-shaped, flat like an asphalt roller crushed silhouette and the traditional festival of triangles embedded everywhere.

But there are plenty of unique features. For example, the triple headlamps packaged in carbon bodies are a homage to the famous Lamborghini Countach from the 70s.

By the way, the name of this legend is correctly pronounced as “Kuntash”, and not “Kauntach”.

Specifications

The Lamborghini Sian is powered by a hybrid powertrain that includes a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine with 785 hp. (720 Nm of torque) and a robotic gearbox with an integrated 34-horsepower 48-volt electric motor.

The total power of the installation is 819 horsepower. Instead of a rechargeable battery, a supercapacitor is used, which is three times more powerful than a lithium-ion battery of the same weight.

The electric motor with supercapacitor weighs only 34 kilograms. From 0 to 100 km / h, the supercar accelerates in 2.9 seconds, and the maximum speed can be 350 km / h.

The bookcase that covers the sexy 12-cylinder located in the base of the engine, which naturally turns into a panoramic sunroof, also looks great.

And, of course, active aerodynamics — where can we go without it? For example, active cooling paddles only “turn on” at a certain temperature.

Or a rear wing, huge, like Batman’s cloak, which for the time being is hidden in the rear of the body, and in the raised working position looks simply intimidating.

A wing of this size will not hurt «Sihan» — after all, 819-strong «Lamborghinis» have not yet existed! The main contribution to the power potential is made by the 6.5-liter V12 (785 hp), the electric motor, for its part, adds only 34 “horses”.

Not much, right, but the electric motor is tricky here. It is built into the gearbox and, when shifting, when the moment from the internal combustion engine stops going to the driving wheels for a moment, it continues to drive the car forward.

That is why, when accelerating, for example, from 70 to 120 km / h, «Sian» wins over «Aventador-SVJ» by more than a second.

And yet — the electric motor is powered by supercapacitors, similar to the KERS system in Formula 1. A very correct decision — a supercar, by definition, should be superb. Even if it’s just about capacitors.

In general, it is probably understandable why they ask for such fierce money for Sian. Moreover, $ 2.5 million is just the beginning.

If, for example, you urgently need wheels larger than the stock 20-inch, or you want to change the seat material from the elite furniture manufacturer Poltrona Frau for something more exclusive — say, for chairs made of leather ripped off a whale penis — then the price tag will be completely different.

On the other hand, out of 63 copies of «Sian» intended for sale, all 63 have already been bought out. What a pity, apparently a cutlet of 150 lemons will have to look for another use.

By the way, we almost forgot — in translation from the Bolognese dialect Sian means ‘lightning strike’.
