720S evolution McLaren has unveiled the new 765LT supercar, whose public premiere was to take place at the canceled Geneva Motor Show.

Like other Longtail models, the McLaren 765LT has a long tail and a striking carbon fiber aerodynamic body kit. The latter includes a front splitter, other bumpers, other side skirts, an enlarged rear diffuser and an active Longtail wing.

The latter not only improves the aerodynamics of the car, but also contributes to the efficient removal of hot air coming from the engine compartment, plus it can act as an air brake.

Ultra-light forged wheels with titanium bolts are another distinctive feature of the new supercar. They have a ten-spoke design and are «shod» in special Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires, while McLaren Senna carbon ceramic brakes are responsible for the safe stop of the car.

The McLaren 765 LT has carbon-fiber racing seats, which are 18 kg lighter than the 720S sports seats. In order to reduce weight, the British also abandoned the air conditioning and audio system, and there are no pockets in the doors — they use nets instead.

The interior of the British coupe is finished in Alcantara and has numerous carbon fiber accents. The desired result was achieved not only by the widespread use of carbon fiber and the abandonment of some equipment, but also by the installation of thinner windshields and side windows, while the rear glass here is completely made of polycarbonate.

The new McLaren 765LT is powered by a modified 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that delivers 765 hp. and 799 Nm. That’s 45 horsepower and 30 Nm more torque than the 720S.

Also, the engineers reconfigured the seven-band robot, which had a positive effect on the dynamics of the car. From 0 to 60 mph (96 km / h), the novelty is capable of accelerating in 2.7 seconds, and from 0-200 km / h in 7.2 seconds.

The supercar can cover a quarter mile (402 meters) distance in less than 10.0 seconds, and the top speed of the coupe can reach 330 km / h.

Another feature of the McLaren 765LT is a retuned suspension with new springs and dampers. Compared to the 720S, the car has a wider front track and lower ground clearance, while Proactive Chassis Control II allows for «maximum handling and control.»

In total, the British plan to release only 765 copies of the new 765LT, while deliveries of the first cars to customers will begin in September 2020. The company promises to announce the cost of the «long-tail» coupe in the near future.

The most powerful of them (Performance Stage 2) implies the installation of a special control module, which allows you to «squeeze» 855 hp out of the engine. and 898 Nm.

After that, Novitec 765LT will be able to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 2.5 seconds, and from 0-200 km / h in 6.5 seconds.

The maximum speed is over 330 km / h. Plus, the tuners are ready to install a high-performance Inconel system with a 999-carat gold plating on the supercar, which will improve the sound of the power unit.

Additionally, the Germans propose to lower the British model’s suspension by 20 mm by installing sports springs. The cost of such tuning is not advertised.
