The rarest McLaren Speedtail hypercar will be auctioned off.
This is the first Speedtail to be auctioned.

Auction house Sotheby’s is preparing to put up for auction something special: in January, the rarest superhybrid McLaren Speedtail will be auctioned off.

The hypercar will be the first of 106 units produced to participate in the auction.

This McLaren Speedtail is the 36th in a row, according to the auction house website.

The base rate has not yet been disclosed, but it is known that the hypercar is equipped with options and custom-made parts for $ 170,000 or 12.5 million rubles.

In the fall of last year, the car was purchased by a certain buyer from Philadelphia, who managed to drive it less than 50 kilometers.

The hybrid’s carbon fiber body is finished in a unique MSO Heritage Atlantic Blue with white stripes that echo the alloy wheels.

Only the stripes on the body cost the client $ 53,600 (almost four million rubles). The front wheel caps are made of high-gloss carbon fiber.

The Speedtail’s seats are upholstered in orange genuine leather with unique stitching, the same finish as the carbon steering wheel and dashboard with five separate displays, two of which are responsible for the rear-view cameras.

The steering wheel hub is covered in Alcantara, and the paddle shifters are made of titanium-coated carbon fiber.

McLaren unveiled the Speedtail in October, and by then the entire batch of 106 hypercars had already sold out, despite a base price of $ 2 million.

Before the sale, the company confirmed the identity of each buyer in order to protect collectible cars from outbidding — the document will be attached to the lot at the auction.

Superhybrid McLaren Speedtail is equipped with a gasoline-electric power plant with a total capacity of 1,050 horsepower.

To accelerate from standstill to 300 kilometers per hour, the car spends 12.8 seconds, and the maximum speed is 403 kilometers per hour.

In July, RM Sotheby’s put up for sale a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss speedster with a 660-horsepower V8, for which it planned to gain from 1.9 to 2.2 million euros (171-198 million rubles).

However, the car never found a new owner. Probably, the auction will be repeated next year, and the auction house will have to slightly lower the bid.
