Mercedes-Benz CLS 2022: facelift of the CLS model.
The third-generation Mercedes CLS sedan debuted at the end of 2017 and has since undergone at least one small upgrade — last summer, the model received an improved MBUX media center and an expanded set of electronic assistants.

Now the car has been finalized once again, revising the body design, interior and technology. Sales of the updated four-door in Europe and Russia will start in July this year.

Prices and configurations for our market will be announced a little later, but the current cost serves as a guideline — from 6 350 000 rubles for the Mercedes-Benz CLS 350 4Matic version.

External metamorphosis

Outside, there are very few innovations. At the front, the bumper has been reconfigured and the radiator grille has been revised (it is now adorned with many miniature three-spoke stars).

At the rear, only the diffuser has been updated. The sedan continues to be fitted with the AMG Line package as standard, with sports air intakes in high-gloss black and distinctive side skirts.

These elements make the look of the four-door more aggressive and assertive.

The novelty also received fresh versions of 19 and 20 inch rims. Two new shades of Tremolite Gray and High-Gloss Black are available for the two-tone 20-inch rims. Starling Blue Metallic has been added to the car body paint palette.

Interior

In the interior of the restyled model, the main new thing is a three-spoke steering wheel with a glossy black insert and a silver edging.

In addition, new decor options Open Pore Brown Walnut and High-Gloss Gray Wood have been introduced.

The list of two-tone upholstery schemes includes Neva Gray / Magma Gray and Sienna Brown / Black combinations.

The 2022 cars have an impressive array of assistance systems. Among them are active cruise control, automatic braking and an advanced parking aid with all-round cameras.

The new CLS sedan will be offered in the following versions:

CLS 220 d: 2.0 liter diesel (194 hp, 400 Nm);
CLS 300 d 4Matic: 2.0 liter OM654M turbodiesel (265 HP, 550 Nm) + starter-generator (20 HP, 200 Nm);
CLS 400 d 4Matic: diesel 2.9 liters (330 hp, 700 Nm);
CLS 350: 2.0 liter gasoline engine (299 HP, 400 Nm);
CLS 450 4Matic: 3.0-liter petrol «six» (367 hp, 500 Nm) + starter-generator (22 hp, 250 Nm).

All of the above modifications are equipped with an «automatic» 9G-Tronic. On the CLS 300 d 4Matic and CLS 450 4Matic versions, the motor of the 48-volt EQ-Boost hybrid system is integrated in the box.

The line-up is crowned with a «charged» Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 4Matic + with a 3.0-liter «turbo six», boosted to 435 hp. and 500 Nm.

Here, too, a 22 hp starter-generator is built into the automatic transmission. and 250 Nm. Up to 100 km / h, the most powerful four-door CLS sprays in 4.5 seconds.

The sedan has an air suspension with adaptive shock absorbers and an all-wheel drive chassis with drift mode support.
