Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Edition 100 2022. The Mercedes-Maybach sedan and SUV have celebrated the brand’s 100th anniversary with a special edition.

At the moment, the Maybach brand exists as a sub-brand of Mercedes-Maybach, but it was once a completely independent company, Maybach Motorenbau GmbH.

Its first car was presented in September 1921, which means that this year the brand celebrated its centennial.

Germans could not leave such a significant event unnoticed and reported about the release of special Edition 100.

The last one received sedan Mercedes-Maybach S 680 and crossover Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600.

For cars in «anniversary» version, the same design with hand-painted two-color body is characteristic.

Note that the underside of the cars is silver «Cirrus Silver», while the hood and roof are blue «Nautical Blue».

The rear roof pillars, wheel hubs, and various places in the interior have inscriptions with the name of the special version.

By the way, the gray-white leather interior has dark glossy decor.

Rear row here is the First-Class Rear type with a solid center console and separate seats, with the Burmester 4D audio system and a set of branded accessories, including a gold-plated fountain pen with diamonds, and champagne flutes to please passengers.

The Germans promise to open orders for the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Edition 100 and GLS 600 Edition 100 in the fourth quarter of 2021, and shipment of the first cars to customers will start at the beginning of the twenty-second.

Only 100 copies of «anniversary» sedan and crossover will be produced, the price tag is not disclosed yet.

Now this brand exists only as a double sub-brand of Mercedes-Maybach, under which the most luxurious and expensive versions of S-Class sedan and GLS crossover are produced.

But in this hypostasis, the Maybach has finally achieved market success. For example, in Russia Maybachs accounted for more than a quarter of sales of S-class of the last generation.

Though the GLS crossover’s share is not so high yet: according to Autoreview data, 13% in the first half of this year.

Besides Russia, the key markets for the Maybach are China, South Korea, the USA and Germany.

And for the centenary the cars are prepared in a special Edition 100.

Both the sedan Mercedes-Maybach S 680 and the crossover Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 in the new special version have the same design and similar equipment.

The two-tone bodies are claimed to be hand-painted: the lower part has a silver shade and the roof is blue.

The interiors are decorated in white and gray tones. Inscriptions with the name of the anniversary version are located on the roof pillars and wheel hubs, as well as in different places inside the cabin.

Finally, the package includes a set of branded accessories.

These include, for example, a gold-coated fountain pen with diamonds, as well as champagne flutes.

Orders for Edition 100 cars will be open in the fourth quarter of this year, with the first units being delivered to customers in early 2022.

Only 100 copies of the sedan and crossover will be produced for the entire world.
