MG One 2021.

Two design variants have been prepared for the new MG One crossover at once.

In the summer of 2021 the Chinese brand MG, a part of the SAIC concern, has presented the crossover One, and now this model has finally come to the assembly line.

Exterior of the all-terrain vehicle is made in the new MG brand style. The car has a wide grille moved down, which is visually united with the side sections of the bumper.

The new MG One 2021 also draws attention with the aggressive «look» of the LED headlights and the unusual embossed overlay on the rear roof pillars.

Depending on the configuration, the parket may have 18 or 19 inch wheels.

The main feature of the crossover interior is a single 30-inch panel, located in front of the driver. In its left side is a touch panel for controlling mirrors, lights and central locking.

Then there are screens of virtual dashboard and multimedia system (both 12.3 inches diagonal), although in the base configuration dash is still analog.

But there are almost no physical buttons in the interior. Note that there are two versions ready for MG One, for the naming of which the Chinese used Greek letters «α» and «β».

Exactly the Alfa variant is positioned more youth and has an aggressive grille.

Widespread use of contrast inserts (including on seat belts) is typical for interior of such car.

But the beta version has a more austere appearance, and its interior is made in dark colors. The new MG One 2021 has become the second model of concern SAIC, built on a new modular platform Sigma (SAIC Intelligence Global Modular Architecture).

Earlier the Roewe iMax8 minivan debuted on this «bogie».

Note that this platform is characterized by high versatility. It can have different types of rear suspension and is suitable for gasoline and hybrid power units.

Specifically presented all-terrain vehicle can boast the presence of an independent rear suspension. It reaches a length of 4,579 mm, a width of 1,866 mm and a height of 1,617 mm.

Its wheelbase is 2 670 mm. In terms of dimensions, the model occupies an intermediate position between the ZS and Pilot crossovers.

The volume of the trunk under the shelf is modest by the standards of the class — 336 liters. If to fold seats of a back row, capacity of a cargo compartment can be increased up to maximum 1 120 liters.

Drive of Chinese SUV is forward only, and it is driven by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine of new family Mega Tech.

It has two phasers, direct injection and a Honeywell turbocharger.

The engine develops 181 hp and 285 Nm, and it works in tandem with the variator, developed together with the company Bosch.

This gearbox has a steel dialed belt and can withstand up to 325 Nm of torque. As well as other models of MG brand, crossover One is entitled to the most driving driving preset «Super Sport», which can be activated from the button on the steering wheel.

Acceleration from a place up to a hundred is possible for 8,4 seconds. In the future, hybrid modifications should appear in the range.

As for equipment, the novelty has a Yamaha audio system, leather interior, panoramic roof and electric front seats.

It is entitled to adaptive cruise control Pilot 3.0, corresponding to the second level of autonomy.

Crossover MG One is already on sale in China, but so far at the dealers presented only alpha versions of the model at a price of 17 to 22 thousand dollars (from 1.2 to 1.6 million rubles at current exchange rates).

But the beta version will appear only in the twenty-second. Note that the manufacturer plans to bring the SUV to some other markets.

So, soon its production will be established in India, and then the company will supply cars to the UK and continental Europe.
