Prices for the new generation of the 2021 Nissan Murano crossover have been announced.

A crossover such as the 2021 Nissan Murano is presented on the Russian market. The Japanese model combines the characteristics of premium models, but at the same time stands as a Korean SUV.

For Russia, Nissan offered Murano with a 3.5-liter «aspirated» and a hybrid unit based on a 2.5-liter engine with a compressor.

For a surcharge, the Japanese model is equipped with a plug-in all-wheel drive. The starting version of Murano now costs almost 2.5 million rubles, for which you can purchase LED optics, a 7-inch color display of the on-board computer, an advanced security and multimedia complex.

The top-end modification introduces premium acoustics, an 8-inch touchscreen monitor, an adjustable sunroof and other equipment responsible for comfort. As before, the Japanese model is being assembled in Russia.

Options and prices

The 2021 Nissan Murano acquired a new body a long time ago. All the changes that have occurred with this car remain unnoticeable in the photo.

In fact, the manufacturer only adjusted the configuration and prices of the crossover, while maintaining the same technical characteristics.

It is probably because of this approach that the Japanese model is still considered affordable by many motorists.

Mid

The starting equipment, which includes a 3.5-liter «aspirated» and a continuously variable variator, costs 2.578 million rubles. Installation of an all-wheel drive transmission is estimated at an additional 257 thousand rubles. The 2021 Nissan Murano is equipped by default with:

Starting with this modification, estimated at 2.954 million rubles, the Murano is equipped with an all-wheel drive transmission.

In the High version, in addition to the basic equipment, a multimedia complex appears with a voice control function for navigation and an audio system, premium acoustics, 11 speakers and an 8-inch touchscreen monitor.

The interior of the crossover houses LED lighting. Externally, the car is distinguished by 20-inch rims.

High +

The High + version is offered for almost 3.07 million rubles.

In this modification, you can find ventilated front seats with an electric drive, which remembers the selected settings, external mirrors with an automatic adjustment function when reversing, as well as monitoring systems for blind spots and driver fatigue.

In addition, the steering column is complemented by a servo drive, and the safety complex is complemented by side and front cameras.

Top

Top grade costs 3.204 million rubles. Moreover, if you buy a Nissan Murano with a hybrid power plant, its price will drop to 2.9 million rubles.

In this modification, there are separate monitors embedded in the backs of the front seats, a multimedia complex with a storage device and an electrically adjustable sunroof.

Specifications

Murano, unlike other models of the Japanese brand, is equipped with a variator, which uses a steel chain, which significantly increases the service life of the gearbox.

The crossover is based on McPherson struts and multi-link rear suspension. The car is distinguished by the presence of rather rigid shock absorbers of lateral stability and the presence of reinforced springs with shock absorbers.

The total length of the Japanese model reaches 4898 mm, and the distance between the axles is 2825 mm. The width is 1915 mm, the height is 1691 mm.

The crossover is equipped with a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with sequential multi-point fuel injection. Its maximum output is artificially limited to 249 hp, when the torque reaches 325 N * m.

For a surcharge, the 2021 Nissan Murano is equipped with a hybrid powertrain. It is based on a 2.5-liter engine, complemented by a turbocharger.

The maximum power of this motor is 234 hp. with a torque of 330 N * m. The engine is supplemented with an 11-strong electric unit, which produces 160 N * m of thrust.

A plug-in all-wheel drive is also available to the car, but by default all the torque (in particular, when driving on asphalt) is transmitted to the front axle.

Handling and off-road performance

The 2021 Nissan Murano is designed primarily for city use. But, as the results of the test drive showed, the car copes well for off-road conditions.

On a flat pavement, the Japanese crossover is held as if it was driving on rails. At the same time, it easily «swallows» various irregularities and accurately enters the turns without noticeable body roll.

Murano also overcomes snowdrifts well. But the Japanese model has one nuance that makes it difficult to fully drive it off-road: the ground clearance reaches 184 mm, as a result of which the car quickly «sits» on the bottom when slipping.

In this case, the connected four-wheel drive does not help either. In such conditions, the crossover has to be rocked slowly, otherwise it will not be pulled out.

Maintenance costs

Murano is notable for the fact that, despite its relatively high cost, it is relatively cheap to maintain.

This is partly due to the fact that it is based on a platform used on less expensive cars. As a result, suspension repairs will cost a relatively small amount.

A significant role is played by the presence of a chain drive in the variator, which provides the box with an operational resource at the level of 250-300 thousand kilometers.

And the built-in 3.5-liter engine is highly durable. The hybrid power plant raises certain questions.

Replacing batteries and a turbocharger is quite expensive. But otherwise, Murano’s maintenance costs are low compared to many of its competitors.

Dynamic characteristics and fuel consumption

Murano with a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated engine reaches the first 100 km / h in 7.9 seconds. The advent of all-wheel drive transmission leads to the fact that this figure increases by 0.3 seconds.

Average fuel consumption ranges from 9.9 to 10.2 liters. The introduction of a hybrid power plant makes the Japanese crossover dynamic, despite the fact that it takes about 8.3 seconds to accelerate to 100 km / h.

But the average fuel consumption is reduced to 8.3 liters.

Design

Externally, Murano is designed in the general style of Japanese brand crossovers, but it has a number of interesting features.

First of all, this concerns the shape of the head optics, from which a thin strip extends upward, stretching along the bottom of the hood. The rather large grille is framed by metal V-shaped slats.

The extended front bumper is complemented by a compact air intake and fog lamps, placed in a separate niche. The rear of the body is designed according to the standard scheme for modern crossovers.

The tailgate has a wave-like profile. On the sides of it are large LED lights of a non-standard shape. Above is a rear wing, and below is a bumper painted in a contrasting color.

The salon of the Japanese model is replete with premium solutions. Of particular interest are the front seats, the configuration of which was developed by NASA engineers.

Artificial leather trimmed not only the seats, but also the transmission tunnel with a huge niche, the front panel and the steering wheel.

The center console with a touch screen monitor and climate control elements are installed at a slight angle, which increases the overall ergonomics of the cabin.

The rear row of seats provides a comfortable fit, which is greatly facilitated by the large size of the car. And the luggage compartment holds up to 452 liters of cargo.
