Oletha Coupe 2022. The Oletha Coupe or the heavily modified BMW Z8.

Smit Vehicle Engineering has introduced the Oletha Coupe, which is essentially a heavily upgraded BMW Z8 roadster with a fixed top and a 450+ hp E92 M3 engine.

The Oletha is the name of the car that the guys at Smit Vehicle Engineering created.

This car is essentially a Bavarian BMW Z8 Coupe roadster, which was made in a retro style.

The car is meant to pay homage to the classic 507. The car startup describes it as «our love letter to the BMW of our childhood.»

Smit Vehicle Engineering doesn’t say what model it’s based on (it appears to be an E86 generation Z4), but there are a few indications of the car’s origins thanks to an all-new carbon fiber body.

The front end of the Oletha Coupe has unique grilles, retro-style headlights, and a power dome on the hood.

Other key design features include a custom-made roof, dual exhaust pipes and taillights, just like the original Z8.

While the original BMW Z8 was powered by the 4.9-liter S62 V8 atmospheric engine from the E39 M5, the Oletha Coupe is instead powered by the 4.4-liter S65B44 V8 engine used in the M3 CRT generation E90 and M3 GTS E92, which has been tuned to produce over 450 hp.

Smit Vehicle Engineering says it installed a carbon fiber intake manifold and a special exhaust made from a blend of stainless steel and Inconel.

Connected to this engine is a six-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels via a mechanical limited slip differential.

Other key features of the Oletha Coupe include a dual adjustable KW suspension and AP Racing brakes with Radi-CAL forged calipers.

It is also mounted on forged and machined monoblock wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

No images of the car’s interior have been released, but the company promises eight-way adjustable touring seats or carbon fiber sports seats and an «audiophile-level audio system.»

Smit Vehicle Engineering unveiled the new Oletha sports car. It is almost an exact copy of the BMW Z8 Coupe, as it looks similar to it, has a hard top and retro styling.

The appearance of the model refers to the classic 507, which was produced as a roadster. The startup describes its brainchild as «a love letter to the BMW of our childhood.»

Smit Vehicle doesn’t say which BMW the car is based on, but we can assume it’s an E86-bodied Z4.

However, the body is built anew and consists of carbon fiber. In front, the Oletha Coupe has a unique grille, retro-style optics and a small cutout on the hood.

In addition, it has a rigid roof and dual exhaust pipes, and the taillights are exactly the same as the original Z8.

The original was equipped with a 4.9-liter V8 S65B44 engine, which was installed in a BMW M5 E39. Oletha Coupe uses an atmospheric 4.4-liter V8.

It was put in the M3 E90 CRT and M3 E92 GTS. The motor produces more than 450 hp. The company reports that the car has a carbon fiber intake manifold and a special exhaust made of a stainless steel and nickel alloy.

The engine works together with a six-speed manual and the drive is rear. Other key features of the Oletha Coupe include the two-way adjustable KW suspension and AP Racing brakes with forged Radi-CAL calipers.

The price for the car has not yet been announced, but obviously it will be very high.
