Porsche Cayenne Coupe 2021. The new version of the Porsche Cayenne became the fastest crossover of the Nurburgring.

In the near future, the Germans plan to present a new version of the Porsche Cayenne Coupe crossover.

The name of the modification has not yet been disclosed, but the other day it set a new record at the Nurburgring.

The unnamed version of the Cayenne Coupe turned out to be faster than the previous track record holder in the person of the soplatform Audi RS Q8.

By the way, the latter was on the podium for a long year and a half.

Note that the Cayenne is the closest relative of the «Ereski», while its new modification is based on the Turbo version, which is equipped with a V8 engine without a hybrid makeweight.

It can be assumed that it will be called Turbo S — without the «E-Hybrid» prefix.

According to rumors, the performance of the engine on the new product is about 640 hp, which means that the car may well become the fastest and most extreme representative of the family.

By the way, the set record indirectly confirms this.

The race itself at the Nurburgring took place on June 14, 2021 at an air temperature of 23 degrees Celsius.

The record-setting crossover was completely serial, although it received a little camouflage, a roll cage and a racing seat in the cabin.

But they did not put racing tires on the car: the car was taken to the track on conveyor 22-inch Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.

However, the latter are far from so simple, since they were developed specifically for this modification.

Porsche factory pilot Lars Kern sat behind the wheel of the SUV. Under his control, the car managed to complete the Nurburgring circle (20.832 km) in a record 7 minutes and 38.925 seconds, that is, 3.3 seconds faster than the aforementioned Audi RS Q8. The average speed was 163.4 km / h.

After finishing, the driver Lars Kern said that the heavy crossover was confidently on the track and showed no signs of understeer.

According to him, the car perfectly passed bends, changing direction at lightning speed.

The Audi RS Q8 crossover record set a year and a half ago has been broken.

Moreover, the erescu was thrown from the pedestal by its closest relative — Porsche Cayenne Coupe in a new, as yet unnamed version, the official premiere of which will take place in the very near future.

This modification is based on the existing version of the Cayenne Turbo Coupe with a V8 engine and without a hybrid add-on, the estimated power is about 640 hp.

Such a crossover should be the fastest and most extreme in the family. The Nurburgring record is proof of that.

Check-in took place on June 14 at an ambient temperature of 23 degrees.

The company assures that the record Cayenne was completely serial, even the special Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires with a 22-inch landing diameter, created specifically for this model, will be included in the conveyor package.

Of the improvements — only a roll cage, a racing seat and a barely noticeable camouflage on the body.

Factory pilot Lars Kern raced one lap of the Nurburgring with a length of 20.832 km in 7 minutes and 38.925 seconds in the new Cayenne.

The previous Audi record was improved by 3.3 seconds and the average speed was 163.4 km / h.

According to Lars Kern, during the race, the large and heavy crossover showed no signs of understeer.

By the way, back in 2010, such a lap time was shown by the Porsche 911 Turbo coupe of the 997 series.
