Back in 2017, Skoda introduced the compact crossover Karoq, which has become one of the main products of the brand.

Now the Czech manufacturer is preparing a planned restyling. The crossover after the upgrade has already been caught on public roads in protective camouflage.

But soon the appearance of the Czech model will be fully declassified. Skoda announced that the official presentation of the updated Karoq will be held on November 30.

In the current range, the Karoq will narrow the gap between the smaller Kamiq and its larger Kodiaq sibling. The updated version debuted last year and is now ready to premiere in an improved form.

Judging by the spy shots, the 2021 Skoda Kodiaq will go the safe route with subtle visual changes centered on the front bumper and LED lights.

Judging by the previously published photos, the Czech model will receive a spot-on overhaul. The car will keep the familiar grille with vertical bars, the position of which will be changed.

Headlights in the caught version of Karoq looks unchanged. But a number of experts suggest that the Czech model will receive matrix headlights.

They are able to automatically change the characteristics of light depending on the situation on the road.

Also the company Skoda will redesign both bumpers. And in this case we are talking more about spot repairs.

That is both bumpers will remain the same configuration. In addition, judging by the location of the protective camouflage, some changes will be subjected to the rear optics.

The interior of the Czech model is likely to have an updated touchscreen monitor, which will remain in its place.

It will still be integrated into the central console, and on its sides the developers will install air deflectors.

Relatively recently we heard hints that the Karoq could be equipped with a hybrid unit.

But it probably will not happen with a planned restyling. Nor should we expect the appearance of a «charged» RS version.

Most importantly, there will be more technology in the cabin, including the latest infotainment systems and ADAS features. It is also known that the model will retain Normal, Sportline and Scout modifications.

As for powertrains, expect a moderately updated range that includes 1.0-liter, 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter TSI gasoline engines, as well as a 2.0-liter TDI diesel combined with a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmission. As an option is available all-wheel drive.

We recall that the Skoda Karoq is based on the MQB platform of VW Group and is the brother of the model SEAT Ateca, which was updated last year.

Like its predecessor, Skoda will continue to produce the updated Karoq in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia and China.

The updated Karoq should go on sale in early 2022. In Russia it will probably arrive no earlier than summer.
