Skoda Scala Edition S: only 500 cars will be prepared in the ABT studio.

Specialists of the German tuning studio ABT Sportsline presented a modified version of the Czech Skoda Scala hatchback called «Edition S».

Outside, the Skoda Scala Edition S is notable for a slightly revised body kit with an enlarged spoiler on the fifth door, as well as special 18-inch wheels.

Customers can choose from three body paint options: gray, black and bright red metallic.

Of the features of the interior of the modification, it is worth noting the new seats, which are upholstered in black fabric. Plus, the five-door interior has carbon fiber dots and stainless steel pedals.

Note that the special version is built on the basis of the expensive modification «Monte Carlo», which means that the hatchback from ABT Sportsline can boast of the richest equipment possible.

Skoda Skala Edition S is equipped with a standard 1.5-liter engine, but German tuners have managed to increase its output to 190 hp. and 290 Nm.

The unit works in tandem with a six-speed manual. Among other technical features of the special version, it is worth noting a modified suspension with a ground clearance lowered by 15 mm.

Only 500 copies of the «heated» Skoda Skala will be released in the ABT workshop, and this version will be sold exclusively in Germany.

Acceptance of orders is already open — tuners ask for at least $ 33,790 for the modified five-door (just over 3.0 million rubles at the current exchange rate). Note that the factory model Monte Carlo costs € 24,350 (2.2 million rubles).

The German company ABT Sportsline has been tuning Volkswagen cars for a long time, but in recent years it has been increasingly involved in more serious projects.

For example, its engineers were involved in creating the power plant for the Volkswagen Transporter T6.1 electric van, which debuted last spring.

And the brands included in the concern increasingly include tuning models in their range: even on the Russian market, Audi Q5 ABT Edition crossovers with a special aerodynamic body kit were sold. Another such project was the Skoda Scala Edition S hatchback.

Remember the Skoda Vision RS concept five-door with a 245 hp plug-in hybrid that debuted in 2018?

It became the forerunner of the production Scala model, but there is still no RS version in the family, and the 1.5 TSI turbo four remains the most powerful engine, which produces 150 hp. and 250 Nm.

The new Skoda Scala Edition S, alas, also does not pull on a full-fledged «ereska»: it is equipped with the same 1.5-liter engine as the standard model, but its output is increased to 190 hp. and 290 Nm.

The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, the drive is only for the front axle.

In addition, ABT engineers worked on the suspension, reducing the ground clearance by 15 mm, slightly retouched the tail (an enlarged spoiler appeared on the fifth door) and installed special 18-inch wheels.

Since it is based on the expensive Monte Carlo hatchback, the new Scala Edition S boasts a wide range of basic equipment.

Although in the cabin, the differences between the «sports» version and the standard model are reduced only to new seats with black fabric upholstery, stainless steel pedals and carbon fiber decor. There are three body paint options to choose from: gray, black and bright red «metallic».

The Edition S version has a circulation of only 500 copies, and all of them are intended for the German market.

Acceptance of orders is already open, the starting price is 33,790 euros against 24,350 euros for the usual Scala Monte Carlo hatchback. Alas, the Scala model is not represented on the Russian market, instead of it we sell Skoda Rapid liftbacks.
