Skoda Superb 2022.

Skoda Superb is preparing once again to change generation: the car of the fourth generation should be released in late 2022 or early 2023, but the first sketches and renderings are available online today.

The flagship model, which in everyday life is used by the President of the Czech Republic, really continues to be the pinnacle of design and design thinking of the employees of the company Škoda Auto, and its updated version plans to make a few qualitatively different standards.

For example, concerning the architecture of the interior, which the head of the brand Thomas Schaefer has already called a revolution in the interiors of cars Škoda.

Review

Skoda SuperB 2022 model year will remain a restyled version, which came out in 2019, and which for the first time got matrix LED headlights, wireless gadget charging and adaptive «cruise».

The most important achievement, however, was the Superb iV plug-in hybrid modification with a 1.4 TSI gasoline engine, an 85-kilowatt electric motor and a 13 kW⋅h battery (total powertrain output is 218 hp).

This car continues to be based on the MQB platform, sharing it with the VW Passat B8, and both next-generation cars will also get the same «bogie» and with it the same level of technical equipment.

Exterior Design

The main changes planned for the exterior of the new Skoda Superb are larger and slightly modified radiator grille with more massive chrome edging, narrower headlights and new body «plastic».

The car will slightly increase in size due to the new bodykit, and its profile in a sedan will look more like a liftback thanks to a more gentle slope of the rear window.

The station wagon will also remain in line, which will also become larger — only to maintain the status and maximum distance from the new Skoda Octavia.

Interior

According to preliminary data, the Skoda SuperB will completely change the interior, but a lot will borrow from the Enyaq iV electric crossover.

In particular, it will be a large 13-inch central monitor, which can become the largest in the class.

The design of a central tunnel will also change seriously as Superb, as well as Passat, can pass exclusively to automatic transmissions.

The main trend in interior’s design will be minimization of buttons: those which remain on the front console, will be sensor.

Technical stuffing and characteristics

It is planned that the engine lineup for Skoda Superb 2022 will include gasoline and diesel engines of new generation meeting environmental standards «Euro-7».

Their appearance deadline is 2025, but till that time Czechs will surely present new hybrid units — «soft» and recharged from the socket.

For the foreseeable future, completely electric Superb should appear and it will become the most expensive and technologically advanced representative of the iV family.

While in line are petrol-engines TSI (1.4, 1.8, 2.0) and diesel TDI (1.6, 2.0), which are completed with a mechanical «box» 6-MCP and preselective 6-DSG and 7-DSG.

The most powerful modification is the 2.0 TSI 4×4 with 280 hp engine (206 kW).

Release date and terms of appearance in Russia

In Russia, the Skoda SuperB finds good demand, as the model is still in the price segment of 2-3 million rubles.

The most affordable sedan variant is priced at 2,265 thousand rubles (1.4 TSI DSG, 140 hp), and the most expensive — at 3,806 thousand rubles. (280 hp).

On sale there are front and all-wheel drive modifications, and the equipment of the most «smart» one has 9 airbags, heated seats, lane assist, suspension with adjustable stiffness and Canton sound system with 11 speakers and a subwoofer.

Dealers are expecting the new fourth-generation Superb by 2023.
