Subaru WRX S4 2022 for Japan will debut in November 2021.

Subaru has released the second teaser of the 2022 WRX S4 model. This new model will soon be introduced in the Japanese market.

Subaru has released a teaser of the new «charged» sedan WRX in S4 version. This model will be available on the home market during November. At the same time its specifications are known even now.

The fact that Subaru WRX S4 does not differ from the same-named sedan in the STI Sport version, which is already on sale in other markets (in particular the U.S.).

Similarity between the two versions of the Japanese model emphasizes the black expansions arches, a spoiler on the luggage door and reinforced bumpers.

And the rear one is complemented by a massive plastic plate, where four exhaust pipes are installed, located two by two on each side.

Perhaps Subaru will make some changes to the WRX S4 before the car enters the home market.

Thus, the manufacturer is expected to slightly redesign the Japanese model’s body, improving its styling.

There is a chance that some changes will affect the technical part. But so far this information has not been officially confirmed.

But it is known that Subaru WRX S4 will get the same 2.4-liter supercharged engine with which the sedan can be purchased on the American market today.

The current output of this unit reaches 271 hp with a maximum torque of 350 N*m. That said, it should be noted that Subaru often offers more powerful variants of its models on the home market.

However, even under such conditions, the QRX S4 will get the same 6-speed manual transmission, which is optionally replaced by a continuously variable variator.

Subaru company as a whole does not disclose any details about its novelty. However, it is possible that the manufacturer will not limit itself to the named changes, and will add a number of comfortable options.

The Subaru WRX S4 shown in this teaser has the same orange paint job as the U.S. model that debuted a few months ago.

It also features the same black wheel arch extenders, reinforced bumpers, and tailgate spoiler.

The WRX S4 also has some red STI badges. They indicate the STI Sport trim variant, which will occupy the top of the WRX range in Japan.

It may have minor mechanical improvements, but most of the changes will be visual.

The model is powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder opposition engine with 271 hp and 350 Nm of torque.

High-performance cars for the Japanese market usually have slightly more power than those in foreign markets.

Because of this, the Japanese spec WRX S4 may have a few extra horsepower.

Japanese buyers are expected to be offered the WRX S4 with the same six-speed manual transmission and variator as in other markets.

No other details about the model are known at this stage. Subaru has confirmed that it will be introduced later this month.
