Suzuki Celerio 2 2022.

Suzuki Celerio has obtained a multimedia system with the change of generation and has appreciably grown up.

The small hatchback Suzuki Celerio 2 generation, developed at Maruti Suzuki joint venture, officially premiered on November 10, 2021.

First of all, the novelty is intended for Indian market, but it also will be presented in Southeast Asia, but it is not worth waiting for in Europe.

The second generation of the five-door is noticeably larger than its predecessor and has new bumpers, oval grille and more expressive optics.

The base model is equipped with 14-inch wheels, but for the top versions the 15″ wheels are available for the first time.

Interestingly, the hatchback is unified with Suzuki Wagon R in many ways.

In particular, it has the same door handles, mirror housings and some interior elements. With the change of generations the interior became more spacious.

The main innovation is the appearance of a full-fledged multimedia system (the predecessor has a usual radio). It has a 7.0-inch display and supports voice control.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio 2022 with new body is built on the basis of optimized Heartect platform, on which such models as Ignis, Swift and Wagon R are already based.

Structurally, the «bogie» is simple enough: drum brakes and semi-independent suspension are used on its rear axle.

The second-generation hatchback reaches a length of 3,695 mm (+ 95), a width of 1,655 mm (+ 55), and a height of 1,555 mm (+ 15).
Wheelbase of the car is 2,435 mm (+ 10).
Clearance also became a little higher — 170 mm (+ 5).
The volume of the trunk is announced at the level of 313 liters.

In kerb weight, the basic version of the Suzuki Celerio 2022 weighs 800 kg (+ 15). In motion a tiny five-door still leads a liter three-cylinder motor K10C series Dual-Jet.

However, for the model of the second generation the power unit was upgraded, equipped with standard «start-stop» system.

Power of the engine thus decreased to 66 hp. (- 2), and torque to 89 Nm (- 1).

Its gearboxes are also old: a five-speed manual and its robotized version with one clutch. All versions of the model with a robot also have an uphill hold system.

The list of base equipment of hatchback is quite modest: there is ABS, two airbags and rear parktronic.

A start button, an air conditioner and keyless access system can be ordered for the car for extra charge.

Suzuki Celerio 2 has already started taking orders in India — the car can be bought for $6,700 up to $9,300 (480,000 — 660,000 rubles at current exchange rate). With time, the model will also reach a number of Southeast Asian markets.
