Japanese company Toyota began selling Fortuner GR Sport. This information is shared by the portal «New cars».

We should remind that they started accepting applications back in the fall, and now «live» sales at dealers have started.

Externally, we should note the appearance of massive chrome bumpers, as well as modified grille and alloy wheels with a diameter of 18 inches and the original pattern.

The interior has an updated multimedia system, which has become more modern. Also the passengers of the second row get a separate screen.

The chairs received high quality leather trimming. There are already in the starting set a camera with a 360-degree view and wireless charging for a smartphone. The engine range has remained unchanged.

The base is a diesel engine with a working volume of 2.4 liters and output of 149 hp. The petrol engine has a displacement of 2.7 liters and output of 163 hp.

In conjunction with motors works automatic transmission with 6 speeds. Translated into rubles it costs 2.8 million for the base version.

It is not excluded that similar performance will get to our country, and already next year.

Toyota continues to produce contested versions of its models from the Gazoo Racing division.

Its turn came to off-road Fortuner. He received GR Sport, which has almost no technical modifications: most of the differences boil down to cosmetic changes in the exterior.

The Toyota Fortuner will be available in Indonesia, where it will be offered with non-alternative rear-wheel drive.

Externally, the Fortuner GR Sport SUV can be recognized by «dark» exterior details, retouched bumpers, two-tone 18-inch wheels, darkened optics and special edition emblems on the doors.

The interior is trimmed with black leather. The Fortuner GR Sport has a multimedia system with a 9-inch display, wireless charging compartment for gadgets, electric adjustment of front seats and additional screen on the ceiling for rear passengers.

In addition, the SUV is equipped with an electric trunk door, hill start assist and an assistant for driving with a trailer.

The rest of the model is the same as the standard Fortuner available in Indonesia.

The Fortuner is offered there with two engines: a 2.7 petrol engine that produces 163 horsepower and 247 Nm of torque, and a 149-horsepower (400 Nm) diesel.

Both engines are combined with a non-alternative six-band automatic and rear-wheel drive.

Whether this Fortuner will be available outside of Southeast Asia is still unknown.

In Russia, the SUV is sold with 2.7-liter and 2.8-liter gasoline and diesel engines, respectively, developing up to 200 horsepower.

The drive is all-wheel drive only, and the gasoline unit is combined both with an automatic and a «manual».

In early 2019, Toyota has promised to release a GR variant of each of the models in its current lineup.

Prior to the Fortuner, the Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport debuted, which also got a more brutal look due to exterior details, including an unpainted plastic dodger with a grille with Toyota lettering.

Information about the «technique» has not yet been disclosed, as well as the start date of sales, although such a Land Cruiser has already been photographed in Russia.
