Arcfox Kaola: the perfect mommy car from BAIC to help birth and nurture.

BAIC, an affiliated electric car brand of the Chinese automobile concern, has introduced a very unusual new product, the Arcfox Kaola, a compact van designed especially for young mothers.

The design and layout of the compact van is optimized for the specific comfort and safety requirements of pregnant women and babies.

BAIC launched the Arcfox brand in 2017, but in five years of operation it never found its way to success and did not become a prominent player in the Chinese market.

There are now only two models in the Arcfox range — the mid-size crossover α-T (Alpha-T) and the large flagship liftback α-S (Alpha-S).

The debut Arcfox Life electric city car has already gone off the scene, and the Arcfox GT hypercar presented in 2019 in Geneva never became a production car.

Now the young brand is trying its hand in the niche of family cars: presented a compact van Kaola, its name refers to the bear koala, the muzzle of this legendary Australian animal is stylized by the model’s own logo, but the letters «o» and «a» in the name are reversed for some reason.

At the same time in the brand photos on the headrests of the second row seats we see the correct inscription Koala.

We have already got used to confusing Chinese naming, but it is the first time we see such an elaborated momemobile from Celestial Empire.

The body of Arcfox Kaola is made as cute as possible, with a smiling front end and squinting headlights.

The left rear door of the Kaola is the usual hinged one, while the right one is sliding and electrified for easy boarding/unloading.

The Arcfox Kaola is expected to be purchased while still in its gestation stage.

There are two separate seats in the second row, the right one is optimized for pregnant women: you can ride in it half lying down, putting your feet on the front passenger seat’s backrest lowered forward.

The multimedia system integrates special medical applications to monitor the health of the expectant mother: the car will remind about the necessary medical examinations and tests, warn of an impending birth and in general will keep a hand on the pulse, so to speak.

The baby will travel on the left rear seat in a uniquely designed from scratch insertion seat with multiple settings.

The carrier platform is electrified and swivels toward the parent when you need to put or pick up your baby.

When the baby falls asleep the seat adjusts itself to a more horizontal position, the climate control system with built-in antibacterial filter adjusts to the optimum temperature and humidity, and the light automatically dims.

Built-in sensors in the seat will alert the parent if the baby pees.

The organizer drawer between the front seats has a fold-out changing table and a heated/cooled box for four bottles of formula.

A smart camera automatically takes pictures of the smiling baby at all times, and if it sees him crying, it activates a soothing mode with soft music.

The sides of the body of Arcfox Kaola are additionally reinforced in case of an accident and the volume of the inflatable curtains reaches 37 liters.

The windows are equipped with curtains to create an intimate atmosphere during breastfeeding and changing.

There is no information about the technical filling of the Arcfox Kaola yet, as well as the price, but the model mama-mobile will definitely not be cheap.
