The Audi A6 concept car, which debuted in liftback format a little less than a year ago, has not yet been put into production: production will be set up only in 2024 — a little later than originally expected.

The upcoming Audi A6 e-tron will be the first model on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) modular platform.
The electric «bogie» was developed by Audi in collaboration with Porsche and is designed for a range of B, C and D class models.
The architecture supports an 800-volt electric system, 270 kilowatts of constant current charging and offers a range of up to 700 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.
The electric station wagon is close in size to the fuel-powered A6 Avant, only noticeably wider. Diameter of the wheels is 22 inches.
The aerodynamic drag coefficient Cd is 0.24 vs. 0.22 for the A6 e-tron liftback and 0.27 for the regular A6 Avant with a base two-liter engine.
Audi calls the design «monolithic»: they say, when viewed from the side, the body panels look like a single piece.
PPE-powered cars can have rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
The dimensions (4.96×1.96×1.44 meters), this «shed» practically does not differ from the liftback.
Besides the obvious changes in the shape of the roof, the difference is visible only in the design of the grille and front bumper.
The aerodynamic drag coefficient increased from 0.22 to 0.24. The interior, interestingly enough, is still classified.
Both electric cars have a battery capacity of about 100 kilowatt-hours with 270-kilowatt charging support: in 10 minutes you can restore the energy reserve, which is enough for 300 km of journey, and «refueling» from 5 to 80% will take less than 25 minutes.
The power plant was transferred to a new body without any changes: two electric motors provide 476 hp and 800 Nm in total and allow picking up a hundred in less than 4 seconds.
The base rear-drive variant will accelerate to 100 km/h in 7 seconds and cover up to 700 km.
Matrix headlights of the concept can «draw» clues on the road, just like Mercedes, and project pictures on the walls, up to simple video games.
The lights are made of organic LEDs, combined into a band and function as a single display.
They can set an infinite number of static and dynamic options for luminous patterns.
The role of turn indicators is assigned to LED projectors integrated into the corners of the body.
The basis of the new family Audi A6 will be the Premium Platform Electric architecture, developed together with Porsche.
On the same basis a new crossover Audi Q6 e-tron will be built, whose premiere is scheduled for the second half of this year.
In addition, Audi is now preparing an update of the e-tron/e-tron Sportback family, as well as a completely new battery sports car, which will replace the R8 model.
