Bentley Mulliner Bacalar 2022.

The design of electric Bentley will be revealed on a limited-edition coupe with an internal combustion engine. The two-door will be available in 25 copies.

The British edition Autocar exclusively told about the next, after the Bacalar roadster, independent model of Bentley Mulliner.

It will be a two-door based on the Continental GT Speed, with an absolutely new body, W12 6.0 engine, exceptional customization features and even higher price.

The car will presumably cost £1.5-2 million (147.4-196.5 million rubles), making it the most expensive new Bentley in history.

The coupe will be limited to 25 copies, and its design will in some ways anticipate the appearance of future electric cars of the brand.

Since 2020, the work of Atelier Mulliner is divided into three directions. These are the restoration and reissue of classic models (Classic), the creation of special versions of production Bentley (Collections) and the development of fully original cars (Coachbuilt).

The pioneer of the Coachbuilt program is the Bentley Mulliner Bacalar roadster.
It debuted last spring and uses the chassis of the Continental GTC convertible, but that’s where the similarities between the cars end.

The Bacalar (the roadster is named after a lake on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula) has an original body in the style of the EXP 100 GT concept, a 20-millimeter extended rear track and a modified interior.

The Barchetta’s trim level matches the run (12 units) and price (£1.5 million).

Buyers can choose any type of leather, suede and tweed, experiment with color, stitching and, of course, wood veneer.

Perhaps the most unusual option in Mulliner’s catalog is 5,000-year-old Riverwood, extracted from peat bogs in East Anglia.

Bakalar’s body paint palette includes pigment with iron oxide-coated microscopic silicon dioxide plates derived from rice husk ash — they give the body a special luster.

The second model of the Coachbuilt line will be made in the same vein. The basis of still anonymous project will be a coupe Continental GT Speed, that means, the car will be driven by twin-turbo W12 6.0 engine with 659 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque, coupled with a high-speed eight-speed «robot» and all-wheel drive transmission.

Again there will be a completely original body, and in Autocar believe that the design of the two-door will hint at the appearance of future electric cars Bentley, and inaccessible to the production models of «indposhivaniya».

On unofficial renderings, the car looks more aggressive than the original, although the connection with the EXP 100 GT is traceable here as well.

Thus, from behind the grand tourer painfully reminds Ferrari Roma. The production run will allegedly be increased to 25 copies (all «Bacalars» were sold before the premiere), and the initial price will be set in the range of 1.5-2 million pounds, which will make the coupe the most expensive new Bentley in history.
