The Bertone GB110 hypercar marked the rebirth of the brand.

The honored Italian atelier Bertone went bankrupt back in 2014, and since then the rights to this brand have gone aimlessly by hand.

First the Bertone brand was bought for next to nothing by former employees, in 2016 it was acquired by engineering firm AKKA Technologies, and two years ago the brand was bought by Ideactive.

These two companies are somehow owned by brothers Mauro and Jean-Franc Ricci, who have more than thirty years of experience in the automotive industry. And now they have brought Bertone back to life.

The firstborn of a new era became a hypercar Bertone GB110, although little information about it is published, and instead of photos we have only renders, and the interior is not properly shown (there are only two different sketches).

The initials of Giovanni Bertone, who founded the Carrozzeria Bertone 110 years ago, are ciphered in the index.

It is officially stated that the coupe is based «on components of a German manufacturer», though many elements point to the fact that the Lamborghini Huracan is at the core.

However, many components and units for the Uracan (including V10 engines) are indeed made in Germany at Audi’s facilities.

The Bertone GB110 has original exterior body panels and its own lighting equipment, although the Huracan can be recognized by the shape of the glazing and guillotine door openings.

The chassis with double wishbone «all-round» suspensions is retained, but instead of 20-inch wheels, the Bertone coupe has more showy shoes with 255/30 R21 tires at the front and 335/25 R22 at the rear.

The seven-speed robot and all-wheel-drive transmission remain.

About the origin of the engine it is impossible to say so confidently. Production Urakans have an atmospheric V10 engine that produces a maximum of 640 hp and 600 Nm, and for the Bertone GB110 the figures of 1100 hp and 1100 Nm are declared.

The engine can run on synthetic fuel made from recycled plastic waste and will crank up to 8,400 rpm. Other details, alas, are not available.

But dynamic characteristics are announced. Up to «hundred» Bertone can accelerate in 2.79 seconds, up to 200 km/h — for 6.79 seconds, while indicators of Huracan Evo coupe — 2.9 and 9.0 seconds respectively.

And the maximum speed — 380 km/h against 325 km/h in the original Lamborghini.

It is announced that Bertone GB110 will be produced in quantities of 33 pieces. Orders have already been opened, the first commercial copies are promised in 2024, but neither the price nor the place of production are not known.
