BMW Alpina B8 Gran Coupe 2022. The BMW Alpina B8 Gran Coupe anti-emergency has opened a new range.

The private German company Alpina, which has the status of a car manufacturer and is engaged in the modification of BMW models, has never passed by the large Bavarian coupes.

Special modifications had «sixes» of all three generations, and on the basis of the «eight» E31 was developed BMW Alpina B12, which had only 154 copies.

So, it is not surprising that now the specialists of this company undertook a new eighth series BMW. And the first to see the light was not a coupe or a cabriolet, but the four-door BMW Alpina B8 Gran Coupe.

As well as in case with other models of the Alpina, it is not the extreme BMW M8, but the most powerful «civilian» modification M850i.

And technically this «eight» is unified with BMW Alpina B5 sedans and wagons. Under the hood is set the same modified V8 4.4 engine with a pair of dual-flow turbochargers.

Power has been increased from the standard 530 to 621 hp and torque from 750 to 800 Nm. For comparison, the BMW M8 Competition has 625 hp and 750 Nm.

Eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive transmission are reconfigured, there is a self-locking differential at the rear and adaptive shock absorbers in the suspension.

But according to tradition of Alpina company the accent is made not so much on fast movement in space, but on comfortable one.

Unlike the factory «Emka», the model B8 should win with its malleable character. Although the exhaust system still has the Sport mode, in which additional flaps are opened and the voice of the engine becomes especially aggressive.

There are Brembo brakes: in front — with four-piston mechanisms and disks with a diameter of 395 mm, and behind — with simple single piston mechanisms and disks 398 mm.

The only «technical» option — carbon-ceramic brakes. The standard equipment includes Alpina Classic branded 21-inch wheels (and with a hidden mount) and Pirelli P Zero tires.

The bumpers remain standard, but the front is equipped with an additional lower trim and at the rear with a new diffuser.

The main features in the cabin — redesigned painted instruments (in blue) and branded gear shift buttons on the back of the steering wheel, although you can choose instead of them and more familiar paddles.

As always, it is possible to order full re-stitching of interior with tender Lavalina leather.

As a result, the four-door BMW Alpina B8 Gran Coupe weighs 2100 kg against 1995 kg of the BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe.

Up to «hundred» the Alpina accelerates in 3.4 s versus 3.2 s for the «Emka», and up to 200 km/h — in 11.6 s versus 11.0 s.

But the B8 model has no speed limiter, so it can reach 324 km/h against the factory car’s 305 km/h.

Alpina is already taking orders for a new Gran Coupe, the starting price in Germany is 161 thousand euros, while a four-door BMW M8 Competition costs from 167 thousand.

The Alpina Gran Coupe will also be delivered to America, but on the Russian market Alpina has not been represented for a long time.
