BMW X3 2022.

The compact German SUV BMW X3 has not been updated since 2017 and even «ignored» a very bright presentation of its electric brother iX3.

But the Bavarians have definitely not forgotten about the popular SUV and continue to prepare the restyling of the 2022 BMW X3, hinting at this with public tests of camouflaged cars.

They have been appearing on European landfills since last autumn, so the spies got the opportunity to study the external update program in detail.

Questions remained only on the equipment of the cabin and the engine range, although, according to rumors, global changes should not be expected there either.

Details about restyling

Through the camouflage covers located on the front and rear of the restyled version of the Bavarian SUV, more massive bumpers and slightly enlarged “nostrils” of the radiator grille are clearly visible.

The designers did not make them gigantic, like on the new «four», for which many fans of the German brand will certainly say «thank you».

Inside the 2022 BMW X3, new trim materials and upgrades to IT systems are expected, while the wider engine lineup should see updated engines that generate cleaner exhaust emissions.

Body

Many observers agree that the current version is already a fairly harmonious car with excellent proportions.

It seems that the same opinion is shared by the developers of the German company, who do not want to spoil the successful corporate profile, although they are trying to refresh the exterior of the SUV.

They choose optics as the main tool, which on the restyled version will look different thanks to the changed shapes of the lamps and the new «pattern» of the LED modules.

Also on this model, it is possible the appearance of new adaptive LED headlights equipped with the BMW Laserlight system, which helps to control the high beam.

It is also worth expecting that designers will continue to experiment with the front bumper air intakes, since they are completely hidden under disguise on test cars.

Salon

For the interior of the new BMW X3 2022 model year, for sure, new shades of leather upholstery and their new combinations will be prepared, but the newest infotainment architecture BMW OS 7.0 with a line of displays of different diameters should become the main new thing in the interior.

The most expensive equipment will be called the BMW Live Cockpit Professional, which, like on the “older” X5 model, will provide the ability to very precisely adjust the interface of the central display and dashboard to the individual requirements of the driver.

Technical stuffing

The current version of the German SUV X3 is assembled in Kaliningrad, where it receives 2.0- and 3.0-liter gasoline turbo engines with a capacity of 184-360 hp. with., as well as a turbodiesel of the same volume, issuing 190-265 liters. from.

All modifications rely on the classic 8-speed «automatic» ZF and permanent four-wheel drive.

Globally, the model has a wider range, is additionally equipped with 48-volt mild hybrid diesel engines and has a version of the X3 xDrive30e with a rechargeable hybrid motor.

All this will remain in the lineup, but the basic internal combustion engines can wait for homologation, the purpose of which is to improve the environmental friendliness of the exhaust, so urgent for Europe.

When will it be released in Russia?
