Buick Electra E4 2024.

Auto brand Buick continues to expand its model range, which is offered to customers in China.

On the eve it became known about the preparation for the release in China of a new crossover.

It will be the 2024 Buick Electra E4, which is built on the latest Ultium architecture. Photos of the car were posted on the website of the Chinese Ministry of Industry.

Based on the information published in the same source, the SUV will have a body whose dimensions will be 4818x1912x1580 mm, and the wheelbase is 2954 mm.

Judging by these parameters, the novelty will correspond to the image of a compartment SUV with a short stern.

The weight of the Electra E4 will be 2150 kg, and the car will be “shod” in alloy wheels of 19 or 20 inches (photo source: Chinese Ministry of Industry).

If we talk about the appearance of the car, then it will have a performance similar to another novelty — Buick Electra E5.

However, the front of the car will visually be more flattened. The stern is also framed in a similar style to the E5, but the lights will get a different pattern.

So far, the manufacturer has indicated in the documentation that the Electra E4 will be equipped with one electric unit for 245 horsepower.

However, experts report that later the SUV will be presented in twin-engine all-wheel drive versions.

There are no photos of the interior of the car in the database yet, so it’s impossible to say for sure what opportunities will be provided for the interior of the crossover.

Tentatively, the crossover will be able to debut on the market this summer.

A little later, the Buick Electra E4 can be expected to be on sale in the United States, because gasoline models assembled in China are quite successful in America as well. The price of the SUV is still unknown.

The Electra E4 is slightly shorter, noticeably lower and slightly wider than the Electra E5. The new model can be defined as a coupe-shaped crossover with a short sloping stern or a cross-hatchback — as you like.

The front of the Electra E4 is designed in much the same way as the Electra E5, but looks like a little flattened, and the stern is distinguished by more intricate lights with “smudges”.

The Ministry of Industry documents for the Buick Electra E4 claim the same single 180 kW (245 hp) electric motor as for the Electra E5, but twin-motor all-wheel drive versions will appear later. Regular wheels — 19- or 20-inch, curb weight — 2150 kg, gross weight — 2605 kg.

In the USA, the closest analogue of the Buick Electra E4 and Electra E5 among GM models is the Chevrolet Equinox EV crossover, it is also created on the Ultium platform (the wheelbase is the same as that of the “Chinese”, 2954 mm), but its power plants others: single-engine front-wheel drive produces 213 hp. and 328 Nm, twin-engine all-wheel drive — 294 hp and 469 Nm.

Chevrolet Equinox EV will go on sale this fall, and its Chinese relatives are likely to enter the market earlier — closer to summer.

It is possible that the Chinese Buick Electra E4 and Electra E5 will be delivered to the United States — in any case, Chinese-assembled Buick gasoline crossovers in the brand’s homeland are safely sold.
