Chevrolet Tracker RS: «heated» version of the crossover for the Chinese market.

The compact crossover Chevrolet Tracker II has received a «heated» version of the RS.

The novelty is designed for China and can boast of a four-cylinder engine (previously there were only three-cylinder turbocharged engines).

Outside, the modification can be recognized by a different grille, extended black decoration and the original nameplates.

This car is set on 17-inch wheels (the other versions will use 16″).

No pictures of the cabin yet, but the interior supposedly has a «sporty» trim.

Front-wheel drive Chevrolet Tracker RS is powered by a 1.5-liter «turbo four» from SAIC.

The motor has direct injection and is capable of developing 184 hp. (250 Nm). It works in tandem with a variator.

It is reported that this model accelerates from a place up to a hundred in 7.8 seconds (- 1.1 seconds compared with the car equipped with a 1.3-liter «turbo»).

Whether the suspension has undergone any changes is not specified.

In China, sales of the «heated» Traker RS will begin in May of the twenty-second.

Modification will be the most expensive version of the crossover, but its exact cost is not specified.

For the three-cylinder version, the manufacturer asks from 18 to 22 thousand dollars (from 1.35 to 1.65 million rubles at the current exchange rate).

The compact crossover Chevrolet Tracker debuted in 2019, and until now these cars were equipped only with three-cylinder turbo engines.

Chinese-made cars are offered with 1.0 (125 hp) and 1.3 (165 hp) engines, while Brazilian parkettes are offered with 1.0-liter (116 hp) and 1.2-liter (133 hp) units. But now a four-cylinder version has been added to the range — this is the «heated» Chevrolet Tracker RS for China.

Under the hood, there’s a 1.5 turbo engine made by SAIC, which has direct injection and produces 184 hp and 250 Nm.

The transmission is a variator and optional front-wheel drive.

It is claimed that the Tracker RS can accelerate to a hundred in 7.8 seconds versus 8.9 seconds for the version with the 1.3 engine and the same variator. There is no information about any intervention in the suspension.

Outside, the new top-version differs from its three-cylinder counterparts with a different grille, 17-inch wheels (instead of 16-inch), expanded black décor and, of course, nameplates.

«Sporty» trim is also promised in the cabin, but there are no pictures yet. The Chinese market will see the Tracker RS as early as May and it will be the most expensive in the range: now the three-cylinder version costs from $18,000 to $22,000.

By the way, this summer the production of the Tracker should start in Uzbekistan at the UzAuto plant, but the local range has not been made public yet.
