Citroen C4 X 2023.

Premiere of «all-road» sedan Citroen C4 X took place in Europe.

Till recently in Europe the new Citroen C4 of the third generation was offered only in a hatchback body, but now there is a sedan in the range.

Four-door novelty has got letter «X» in the name and outside it draws attention with «all-road» bodykit from black plastic.

Declared for it aerodynamic drag coefficient Cx is not impressive — 0.29. The interior is the same as the interior of the basic C4 hatchback.

However, the sedan has received increased angle of slope of back of a back sofa and the new entertaining system MyCitroen Drive Plus, which until recently was due exclusively to the senior C5 X cross-liftback.

The Frenchmen also kept the standard 10,0-inch screen with a body, so visually the complex does not differ from the one on the five-door model.

As well as the initial hatchback the new Citroen C4 X 2023 is built on the CMP platform, that means it has semi-independent suspension and has non-alternative front drive.

Thus, because of the increased rear overhang the four-door is noticeably longer — 4 600 mm (+ 245), though its wheelbase remains standard — 2 670 mm.

The French did not increase a clearance of the «all-road» sedan and therefore it is at the level of passenger cars 156 mm.

And the volume of a trunk has become appreciably bigger — 510 liters (+ 130). Citroën C4 X can be ordered with a 1.2-liter petrol «turbo» PureTech.

It’s available in two power options, 102 or 131 hp, with the former coming in conjunction with a manual and the latter with an eight-speed automatic.

Alternatively, you can choose a 1.5-liter BlueHDi turbodiesel with 131 horsepower, which works with an automatic transmission.

Note that both these engines will be available only in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

In Western Europe, the electric Citroen ё-C4 X is offered, which has 136 hp (260 Nm) engine, 50 kWh of traction battery and a 100 kW charger.

The battery-powered sedan can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.5 seconds (- 0.2 seconds compared to a similar five-door) and reach speeds of up to 150 km/h.

Its range is 360 km (on the WLTP cycle), while the hatchback can travel 350 km.

The new C4 X will be produced at the Stellantis plant in Madrid, where they assemble conventional hatchbacks.

It should appear in showrooms at European dealers in the fall of the twenty-second.

There are no crossovers on the local market so far, so the model can «shoot».

Its price has not been announced yet, but probably it will be comparable with a hatchback.

We would remind you that prices for a five-door start from 22,900 euros (1.3 mln rubles at current exchange rate), though for its electric version they ask at least €35,300 (1.95 mln rubles).
