Dodge Durango Mopar: a special edition with special decor and improved handling.

Stellantis Corporation’s Dodge has unveiled a special edition of the Durango crossover at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, marking the 85th anniversary of Mopar’s accessory division.

Only 250 copies will be made (200 for the USA and 50 for Canada).

The current third-generation Dodge Durango crossover has been in production since 2010, with periodic updates; the model underwent another restyling last year, getting a 720-horsepower SRT Hellcat top version.

The sales of the Durango is about three times worse than sister model Jeep Grand Cherokee: during the first three quarters of this year in the U.S. 52,931 and 189,628 copies were sold respectively.

Grand Cherokee, recall, this year changed generations, and the «fourth» Durango is expected next year.

Also next year will mark the 85th anniversary of the division Mopar, in connection with the outgoing Durango 2022 model year is prepared a limited edition.

Essentially, we’re talking about the $3,995 Mopar ’22 Special Edition Package option, which is available when you order a four-wheel drive Durango R/T with a 5.7-liter, 365-horsepower V8 HEMI atmospheric and an eight-speed hydro-mechanical «automatic.»

The Durango Mopar is available only in two colors — black DB Black (pictured) or white White Knuckle.

In both cases, the body will adorn the longitudinal blue stripe Mopar, shifted to the driver’s side and the label Mopar on the grille, brake calipers Brembo painted in blue — they are clearly visible between the tinted fishnet spokes of 20-inch wheels.

The suspension with adaptive dampers is lowered by 25 mm for better handling on paved roads, a louder SRT exhaust system and an electronically controlled self-locking rear differential are installed.

Also included is the Tow N Go trailer towing package (increases permissible trailer weight from 3,266 to 3,946 kg).

In the cabin the buyer will find a plate with the serial number of the machine on the front panel, embroidered logos Mopar on the seats, blue leather upholstery stitching, all-weather mats Mopar and pedals Mopar with chrome pads and anti-slip bumps.

Each buyer will also receive a certificate of authenticity on a metal plate, which you can hang in your office or garage for more pride.
