Fiat Fastback 2023.

Fiat Fastback coupe crossover unveiled.

Fiat has presented its first coupe-like crossover, which has received the unpretentious name «Fastback».

Experts of Brazilian division of concern Stellantis have built this car.

In fact, the declassified model is not a full-fledged crossover — it is a liftback with a fifth door, which has quite controversial body proportions.

Let’s note that for the first time Fastback debuted in public back in two thousand eighteen.

Then the car was shown as a concept and looked much more laconic.

However, for some unknown reason, the developers decided to redesign the body, so the commercial model turned out the way it did.

Completely new the Fiat Fastback 2023 is not, as in fact, before us is a coupe-like variant of other Brazilian rocket car — Fiat Pulse.

The front part of a body is borrowed from the last one, though the bumper has been changed. The car has a roof falling down to the rear and increased rear overhang.

Cross-coupe also boasts of having LED headlights and 17-inch wheels, although the older versions of the model are set to 18-inch rollers.

The interior styling is the same as that of the Pulsa. It means that the basic version is equipped with an analog dashboard and 8.4-inch multimedia system.

More expensive versions are equipped with a 7.0-inch virtual dashboard and 10.1-inch multimedia, and also have climate control and a rearview camera.

The Fiat Fastback is built on a simple modular MLA platform with a semi-independent rear suspension, although the mentioned concept was based on a more advanced «bogie» Small US Wide 4×4, familiar from Jeep Compass and Renegade.

According to the developers, the share of high-strength steel in the body’s power frame is up to 87%.

The length of the car is 4.43 meters (+ 0.33 meters compared with the Pulse). Wheelbase in this case remained at the same level — 2,530 mm. Declared ground clearance is 192 mm.

The trunk space is 600 liters under the shelf. In this case the back row can be folded down, increasing capacity to 1,087 liters (the index to the level of windows).

The initial version of the model is equipped with a liter «turbo» engine with 130 hp and 200 Nm, working in conjunction with a variator.

Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is possible in 9,4 seconds, but it is with activated Sport-mode that also involves simulation of differential locks with brakes.

The top version Limited Edition Powered By Abarth has black decor and special logos, and it is already driven by a 1.3-liter turbo engine with 185 horsepower (270 Nm) and a six-speed automatic.

This car accelerates from 0-100 km/h for 8.1 seconds. Both modifications have all-wheel drive.

Out of the equipment we should mention a set of electronic aids, but the novelty has only four airbags: front and side.

Fiat has already established serial production of Fastback at its Brazilian plant, where the same Pulse is produced.

On the South American market, it will be the flagship of the brand. The cost of the model has already been announced — it can be purchased for 25-29 thousand U.S. dollars (from 1.5 to 1.75 million rubles at the current exchange rate). But in other regions the model is unlikely to appear.
