Ford Evos 2021-2022. Introduced Ford Evos cross-liftback with 4K multimedia system monitor.

The Americans brought a pre-production prototype of the Ford Evos cross-liftback to the April 2021 Shanghai Motor Show.

The design of the front part of the body of the novelty is largely identical to that of the Equator model.

At the same time, the presented prototype is partially unified with the Mustang Mach-E electric car, as evidenced by a similar glazing profile.

The raised liftback has retractable door handles and a contrasting roof, while a full fifth door is installed at its stern, and the lights are shaped like a horseshoe (like the KIA Soul).

Plus, the car draws attention to itself with large wheels (19 and 20 inches in front and rear, respectively) and catchy orange accents in a circle.

Inside the car, it is worth noting the front panel, which houses a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 27.0-inch display of the Ford Sync + 2.0 multimedia system with 4K resolution.

On the center console there was a place for an emergency gang, a drum volume control, a washer for changing driving modes and an electronic parking brake.

Apparently, the 2021-2022 Ford Evos is built on the C2 platform familiar from the new Focus. This means that the front of the car has MacPherson struts, and the rear has a multi-link.

In length, the car reaches about five meters, and its wheelbase is about three meters. Technically, the model is a plug-in hybrid, with the charging port «tucked away» in the left front fender.

The Americans do not talk about the technical stuffing, while it is known that from 0-60 mph (97 km / h) the car can accelerate in 4.5 seconds. In the combined cycle, it consumes just 1.2 l / 100 km, while its range reaches 1,000 km.

The Changan Ford JV, which has recently been producing Mustang Mach-E, will be engaged in serial production of Ford Evos.

In China, the novelty will debut at the end of 2021, and at first the dealers will have cars in a limited «welcome» edition.

In the USA and Europe, a hybrid should be expected already in the twenty-second, and in the States it will replace the Fusion model, and in the Old World it will replace the Mondeo.

The new cross-liftback Ford Evos is the successor to the Mondeo.

It’s no secret that the familiar Ford Mondeo model will soon become part of history. Production in the United States, where the sedan is known as the Fusion, has already been discontinued, production in Europe will be stopped in March 2022, and the Chinese Mondeo will not be long.

Rumors about a certain heir to the cross-format have been circulating for a long time, but only now it has become clear what exactly Ford wants to replace the long-playing family.

The cross-liftback (or coupe-like crossover) Ford Evos is presented at the Shanghai Motor Show.

Ford Evos 2021-2022.

This name was first used ten years ago for a spectacular concept car that gave the design idea for the current Mondeo.

And in the summer of 2019, Ford registered the Mondeo Evos trademark in England, Australia and New Zealand.

This double name is likely to be used in a number of markets, but in China, the new model debuted as the Ford Evos.

Alas, while this is a pre-production version, so very little information about the car has been published.

It is clear that this is not an electric car: Evos is equipped with a gasoline engine and possibly a hybrid makeweight.

It has a modified and stretched Focus chassis with independent rear suspension and front-wheel drive, plus 20-inch wheels.

And in terms of size and concept, it is a 100% competitor to the recently introduced Citroen C5 X cross-liftback.

On the front panel there is a 12.3-inch dashboard and a huge touchscreen of the Sync + 2.0 media system. Its diagonal is 27 inches, width is 1.1 meters, and the resolution is equivalent to the 4K standard.

The system supports online services and over-the-air updates. Evos is also equipped with a new iteration of Ford’s autopilot called BlueCruise («boring cruise»?) And corresponds to the second level of autonomy.

And for the exchange of information with other machines and road infrastructure, the V2X protocol is provided.

Ford Evos vehicles for China will be produced by the Changan Ford joint venture, with sales expected to begin by the end of the year.

But there is no information about the timing of the appearance of this model in other markets.
