Ford GT 2021. The Ford GT is a mid-engined supercar developed by the sports division of «Ford Performance», which is «another variation» on the theme of the legendary «Lehman triumphant» of the 60s of the last century.

Among other things, it is the fastest Ford in existence, with a limited edition thousand copies.

The official premiere of the conceptual coupe Ford GT of the next (second for the «civilian series») generation, which received a spectacular design and the most modern technology, took place in January 2015 at the International North American Auto Show, and a few months later it «showed off» in front of the European public in Geneva.

The serial production of the two-door was launched at the end of 2016, but its key parameters were disclosed only on January 25, 2017.

Looks Ford GT «second» generation really cool — in its appearance, it successfully combines futuristic features with the outlines of the classic «GT40».

The supercar fascinates with its squat and muscular body, showing aerodynamically adjusted proportions.

From whatever angle you look, the «American» is beautiful and deliberately aggressive — what are only large air ducts in the bumpers, «swollen» wheel arches, spectacular lighting equipment and two powerful nozzles of the exhaust system integrated into the body panels above the rear bumper.

The length of the «JT» of the second incarnation is extended by 4763 mm, between the wheelsets it accommodates 2710 mm, and its width and height are 2045 mm and 1030 mm, respectively.

The «dry» weight of the car is 1385 kg, which is distributed along the axles in the ratio «43:57».

The interior of the supercar meets its inhabitants with a minimalist design with a strict angular geometry of the front panel, decorated in the center with a 6.5-inch «TV» of an entertainment and information complex and an original air conditioning unit.

Directly in front of the driver is a sports multifunction steering wheel, flattened at the top and bottom, and a digital instrument cluster with a 10.1-inch screen, which can be adjusted depending on the driving mode.

Continuing to set the racing tone and bucket seats with a brightly developed profile, which are built into the power cage of the cabin and are stationary (adjustable pedals and steering wheel).


The second «release» of the Ford GT is made according to the mid-engine scheme — behind the riders is a six-cylinder EcoBoost gasoline engine with a V-shaped arrangement of «pots», a combined power system (a combination of distributed and direct injection), two turbochargers and a low-friction gas distribution mechanism.

In its arsenal — 656 horsepower and 746 Nm of torque, and 90% of this value is generated already at 3500 rpm.

The high-performance unit is equipped with a 7-speed robotic dual-clutch transmission and shift paddles, directing the full flow of power to the drive wheels of the rear axle.

The Americans do not announce the acceleration time of their «brainchild» to «hundreds» — most likely, it will keep within three seconds.

The maximum speed of the car is 347.6 km / h (216 mph), and in the combined driving mode it “destroys” no more than 16.8 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (20 liters in the city and 13 liters on the highway).

All body panels are made of composite materials, making the supercar one of the lightest representatives of its class.

«In a circle» the American coupe «flaunts» an independent «push-rod» suspension with horizontally oriented shock absorbers with push rods and springs, with adjustable ground clearance.

The car rests on the road with 20-inch «rollers» that house powerful carbon-ceramic brake discs with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers.

Serial production of the second incarnation of the Ford GT began in late 2016 at the Multimatic plant in Markham, Ontario — a total of 1,000 of these cars will be hand-assembled there.
