Ford Ranger Raptor V6 2023 next generation: three-liter V6 engine, 397 hp. Sales start this summer.

The novelty of the American brand is the third vehicle in the current Raptor family after the corresponding versions of full-size pickup Ford F-150 and SUV Bronco.

«Regular» pickup Ford Ranger of the new generation was introduced in late November 2021.

Recall, the project was implemented in partnership with the German concern Volkswagen, while «twin» novelty — VW Amarok next generation — has not yet been introduced.

In the meantime, it’s the turn of the debut of the top version of the medium-sized Ford truck: the company today presented a version with the addition Raptor to the name.

The Ford Ranger Raptor joins the current family of «extreme» versions of the brand’s models, which also includes the full-size Ford F-150 Raptor pickup and the Bronco Raptor SUV.

It is worth noting that unlike its predecessor, the model will appear in the U.S. market as well.

Exterior of the Ranger Raptor received several differences from the standard truck, presented at the end of last year.

The «extreme» variant has wide wheel arches, 17-inch disks with high-profile tires, front and rear bumpers are designed in a different way, and under the hood is protected by a 2.3-mm thick steel plate.

Ford Ranger Raptor, as a top version, can have only two-row cabin.

The interior of the pickup received sport seats, steering wheel with the so-called «zero mark» and red decorative elements.

The equipment of such Ford Ranger includes a virtual dashboard, as well as the Sync 4 infotainment system with a 12-inch vertical touchscreen.

The «extreme» version differs from the «normal» new Ranger by a redesigned chassis.

So, the modification Raptor has amplitude-dependent shock absorbers Fox Live Valve: in comparison with the predecessor, the friction inside the shock absorbers was reduced by 50%.

The developers also strengthened the mounting of the suspension struts to the frame and increased the stiffness of the frame spars.

Ford offered Ranger Raptor with only one engine, which is still available in «extreme» pickup next generation: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder «biturbo diesel» EcoBlue engine with output of 213 hp and maximum torque of 500 Nm.

Also the range now includes 3,0-liter gasoline biturbo engine EcoBoost V6.

In the European version, it will deliver only 288 hp. In other markets, it will deliver 397 hp (491 Nm). (583 Nm).

It will be paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. Drive, as before, is all-wheel drive.

In a number of countries Ford Ranger Raptor new generation will be on sale at the end of summer.

Dealers in Europe will receive the car in the fourth quarter, and in the U.S. — in 2023. There is no information about prices yet.
