Geely Emgrand 2023.

The Belarusian plant Belji wants to launch production of a new Geely sedan.

It has not yet been announced which model will go on the assembly line. It is not excluded that it will be the last generation Emgrand.

However, whatever the «four-door» will be, it will most likely be supplied to Russia.

The fact that the Belarusian plant Belji plans to set up production of the Geely sedan was told in an interview with local TV channel Belarus 1 by the company’s general director Gennady Svidersky.

«We see that there is a need for a budget lineup. The company mainly works in the crossover niche, but we also need a sedan to allow a number of legal entities and individuals to purchase Geely cars.

So we are working on a model of a more budget class,» said the head of Belji.

The CEO did not specify which «four-door» is meant. Meanwhile, the Russian-based publication «Chinese Cars» wrote in August that the new generation sedans Geely Emgrand were brought to the «Belgi»: it is possible that this model will «settle down» in the neighboring country.

If the project is given the green light, the sedan will probably be supplied to the Russian market as well.

Recall that the new Emgrand made its debut in China last year. The sedan is based on the BMA (B-segment Modular Architecture) platform, it is also the basis of the Geely Coolray (it also produces by «Belji» — along with crossovers Atlas Pro and Tugella).

The length of a four-door is 4,638 mm and wheelbase is 2,650 mm.

In the homeland the model is available with petrol «atmospheric» 1.5 «engine» with the power of 114 hp, the engine is combined with a «manual» or «variator».

By the way, in Russia already delivered sedans Geely Emgrand of Belarusian assembly — the previous generation.

The head of Belji also said in an interview that a crossover KX11 (apparently, this model is also planned for production at the Belarusian plant) is expected in the Belarusian and Russian markets next year.

Under this index Geely Monjaro (in China the model is called Xingyue L), and the Russian office of the brand announced this SUV in January: it was reported then that our market will be released in the second half of 2022.

But after the beginning of the well-known events of the new information about the crossover from the local branch of the brand has not arrived.

At the same time Geely Monjaro already certified in Russia, but OTTS issued for cars made in China.
