Geely Jiaji L 2022. The Jiaji family single-volume has become the first experience of Geely to produce minivans, and quite successful: after four years of production the model managed to undergo restyling, and right now an elongated L-version is preparing to accompany it.

It has an additional 120 mm, which came exclusively to the rear overhang and, accordingly, the luggage compartment, which should allow the owner of the car not to remove the third row of seats to carry large amounts of luggage.

The «short» Jiaji has this problem, but otherwise the Chinese seven-seater minivan was more than successful.

Review

Geely actually stepped into the unknown, but they seriously succeeded in their attempts to create a car of Opel Zafira format. The car turned out beautiful, balanced, with excellent cabin ergonomics and decent equipment.

All this was passed on to the Geely Jiaji L 2022 model year, where along with an elongated «tail» debuted a new exterior design for the van, familiar to us from the company’s modern crossovers.

The Geely Jiaji L 2022 got new optics and bumpers, but the side body panels remained the same.

All this is based on a chassis with a wheelbase of 2805 mm, and the total length of this van is 4826 mm.

Thanks to a completely redesigned front end, the space dedicated to the air intakes has increased many times, and the visual perception of the rear end is seriously changed because of the connected lights, vertical headlights, which are hidden in the «folds» of the overhang, and the false pipes, decorated with brushed aluminum trim.

Interior

As in the base version, the Jiaji L has a two-level central armrest box with 4 cup holders.

The front panel has two displays, but qualitatively different: the indicators are displayed on a 10.25-inch screen with the original graphics, and multimedia is implemented on a 12.3-inch touchscreen, running on the latest Geely Galaxy OS, «honed» under various Internet functions.

The layout of the seats is still 6-7 seats, where the chairs of the second and third rows can be adjusted for a more comfortable position, and removed to increase the amount of cargo space.

Technical stuffing and characteristics

Another difference between the versions Geely Jiaji L 2022 will become an engine: an elongated van got a new 1.5-liter «four» rated at 181 hp (290 Nm), which is now put on the current Coolray.

Robotic transmission provides the drive on the front axle, and while this modification will be the only available.

For comparison, the «usual» Jiaji in the motor range has a 190-horsepower «soft» hybrid, a full-fledged rechargeable hybrid with 258 hp, and as the initial version of the equipment is the usual «turbo four» 1.8-liter (184 hp), supplemented by a «box» 6-MCP.

The L-version is due out in the fall at a different price than the short Jiaji. Right now it is offered for $17,800.
