The flagship crossover Geely Xingyue L is presented: we are waiting in Russia.

Geely has officially unveiled the flagship Xingyue L crossover, also known as the «KX11». The premiere of the novelty took place at the Shanghai Motor Show 2021.

The exterior of the SUV was invented by specialists from the local design studio Geely. They tried to combine Eastern and Western styles in the look of the model, as well as classic and modern solutions.

Outside, the Xingyue L turned out to be in many ways similar to the Preface soplatform sedan, which the Chinese introduced back in the spring of 2019. The SUV received a proprietary radiator grille with vertical slats and matrix LED optics.

By the way, 126 individually controlled LEDs are used in each headlight of the car. The taillights are also LED, and there are even more diodes themselves — 176 per block. As for the wheels, they can be from 18 to 20 inches in diameter.

Of the features of the interior, I immediately want to note the front panel. It here consists of a 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster and a 25.6-inch display of the multimedia system.

The Bose audio system and contour lighting (72 colors to choose from) are also designed to please passengers.

Geely Xingyue L 2021-2022 is built on the CMA platform, on which the Tugella cross-coupe is also based.

The SUV reaches 4,770 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,689 mm in height. The distance between the axles is stated at 2,845 mm.

In the Chinese market, the model will be offered with a 2.0-liter turbo engine co-developed with Volvo. For this unit, two options for forcing are declared — for 217.5 or 238 hp.

A car with a less powerful engine can accelerate from zero to a hundred in 7.9 seconds, and with a more powerful one — in 7.7 seconds.

From the boxes, you can choose either Geely’s own seven-speed DCT robot or Aisin eight-speed automatic. The drive can be either front or full, with a clutch on the rear axle.

Plus, it should be noted that the model has an advanced autopilot of the second level. For the functionality of the latter, 12 ultrasonic radars, 24 sensors, a video recorder, four high-definition cameras, a salon camera, and five-millimeter range radars are responsible.

It is reported that within a two-hundred-meter zone, a car can independently find a free space and park, and the driver does not need to be in the cabin for this.

In China, sales of Geely KX11 / Xingyue L should start in the coming weeks, but prices have not yet been disclosed. Over time, the model will look into Russia, but when exactly — again, it is not specified.

Geely’s mid-size crossover, formerly known under the code KX11, received the Chinese name Xingyue L.

It shares the three-row car with two other models on the Volvo CMA platform — the Xingyue coupe (Tugella) and the Xingrui sedan (Preface).

Under the hood was a 2.0 petrol turbo four (218 and 238 hp) from Tugella, paired with an eight-speed automatic Aisin. Hybrid and pure electric versions will appear.

The public premiere of Geely Xingyue L will take place at Auto Shanghai on April 19-28, and sales in China are scheduled for the end of the year.

In 2021, the ZGH group (Zhejiang Geely Holding) intends to sell 1.53 million vehicles (+210,000 or 16%) in the markets available to it, since last year the pandemic prevented it.

Other countries will join Russia, the Philippines, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Myanmar. This means that Xingyue L will have many names like Okavango.

Ahead of the debut of the Geely Xingyue L at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 19, its exact specifications have been revealed.

It turned out that the new model has two different powertrains with petrol turbochargers 2.0 of the Volvo Drive-E series.

The base engine, designated as 2.0 TD-T4 Evo, produces 218 hp, 325 N • m with a seven-speed «robot» with two «wet» clutches and front wheel drive.

The second engine, 2.0 TD-T5, develops 238 hp, 350 N • m with an eight-speed automatic Aisin and a sixth generation Haldex clutch that connects the rear axle in 100 milliseconds.

The all-wheel drive Xingyue L accelerates to a hundred in 7.7 seconds, consuming 7.8 l / 100 km. The younger version requires 7.9 s, but the appetite is more modest: 6.8 l / 100 km.
