The summer of 2021 will go down in Genesis brand history as the time of the company’s long-awaited entry into the European market.

The Hyundai-owned Korean premium sub-brand is getting ready to compete in the Old World with luxury Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi, and in the prestigious S-class it will showcase its main weapon — the Genesis G90 2022 luxury sedan, which is just preparing to change generation for the first time in its history.

The first version of the model turned out to be quite successful and found good demand in Korea and most export markets, including Russia.

But the five-year production cycle of the G90 is over, so now is a good time to introduce a new generation, which should definitely pay attention to the Europeans.

A lot of things continue to remain in the status of hypotheses, such as lengthening the body with full preservation of the wheelbase and chassis design.

However, so far, everything goes to the fact that the change of generation will turn into a classic restyling with change of optics, bumpers, grille, a slight update to the interior equipment and addition of another engine to the engine range.

Body

The 2022 model year Genesis G90 may get a huge grille that will retain its signature shield look.

Headlights will get rid of the scheme in the form of double horizontal strips, but continue to be divided into two parts by «strokes» of running lights.

At the rear, the stripes will remain, but the lower ones will be connected to each other. The dual-exhaust system with characteristic exhaust pipes will also remain.

Thanks to images of prototypes, you can also assess the new wheels: the presented options until now are two, and both of them impress by the complexity of their «drawing».

Interior

Inside the new sedan no one has yet managed to look, but by rumors, the front console will be completely redesigned.

It is possible that the visor covering the displays will disappear and the central touchscreen will «float» and increase in size.

The interior décor will also change, and the rear passengers will be offered more additional comfort options.

The driver is promised a third-level autopilot, although in cars of this class during the transportation of VIP-passengers this option is unlikely to be in demand.
