Genesis GV70 2022.

Crossover Genesis GV70 2022 is preparing for the start of sales in the Russian Federation: gasoline or diesel, cheaper than «Germans».

In our market, the junior SUV of the premium sub-brand Hyundai is presented only with all-wheel drive, although there are rear-wheel drive options in the homeland.

There are three motors to choose from, and the model has five complete sets.

In Korea, a full-fledged presentation of the Genesis GV70 crossover took place at the end of last year, now prices for the Russian Federation have been announced.

True, the start date of «live» sales in our country has not yet been announced, in addition, at the time the news was published in the open database of Rosstandart, there was no Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS) for the novelty.

Like the rest of the Genesis, the GV70 is built on a rear-wheel drive platform. If the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE are considered competitors of the senior GV80 cross, then the junior SUV will become a rival for the BMW X3 and Mercedes GLC.

The length of the GV70 is 4715 mm, the wheelbase is 2875 mm (the dimensions of the «eightieth» are 4945 and 2955 mm, respectively).

The design, of course, is made in the Genesis corporate style, but it also has its own peculiarities: for example, the rear fins and triangular windows behind them, and in the cabin, the buttons to the left of the driver and the climate control unit are placed in a visually single «oval», plus deflectors the airflow was made in the form of a line that runs through the entire front panel.

In Russia, the GV70 is available with the same motors as at home, but they — already traditionally for our market — were “strangled”.

Thus, the 2.5 T-GDI turbo four petrol engine produces 249 hp. (in Korea — 304 hp), turbo diesel power 2.2 — 199 hp. against 210 hp in the home market, and only the twin-turbo petrol V6 3.5 T-GDI in terms of output almost coincided — 379 hp. (for the Korean cross-country — 380 hp).

The box is one for all — an eight-speed «automatic». In the Russian Federation, the GV70 has only four-wheel drive, although Koreans can still opt for a rear-wheel-drive SUV.

There are five complete sets to choose from at a price from 4,150,000 to 6,150,000 rubles, plus there are several optional packages.

For comparison, a gasoline Mercedes GLC today will cost at least 4,790,000 rubles, a diesel one costs from 4,860,000 rubles.

The price of a BMW X3 with a gasoline engine is from 4 420 000 rubles, with a diesel engine — from 4 520 000 rubles.

The arsenal of the basic GV70 Elegance includes: fully LED optics, 19-inch wheels, ten airbags, a «tidy» with an 8-inch color screen, a Genesis Connected Services telematics complex, dual-zone climate control, a multimedia system with a touchscreen of 14.5 inches, keyless entry systems (with engine start button) and Drive Mode selection of driving modes, rear view camera, heated front seats.

Starting with the Advance version, a leather interior, an electric steering column, a memory for the driver’s seat, mirrors and steering column settings, a head-up display (also with memory for two drivers), ventilation of the front seats, heating of the second row, all-round cameras, a monitoring system appear. blind spots, a navigator with augmented reality and an onboard video recorder with cameras in the front and rear.

Genesis GV70 Supreme is 21-inch wheels, three-zone climate control, glazing with additional noise insulation, digital dashboard (12.3 inches), adaptive cruise, reverse parking assist, auto braking systems (including rear course), lane hold and lane change assistance, remote automatic parking system.

The Sport trim, which is only available with the top-end V6 engine, has an electronically controlled limited slip differential on the rear axle and an electronically controlled suspension with Road Preview.

In addition, this Genesis GV70 has dark chrome on the outside, special design wheels, sports seats and a three-spoke steering wheel. The Sport also has a panoramic roof, seats upholstered in Nappa leather and suede.

Finally, in the Ultimate package, the crossover is additionally equipped with active obstacle avoidance assistance, automatic evasion from oncoming traffic and from passing vehicles when changing lanes, adaptive cruise control with machine learning and adaptive head optics.

Inside the most expensive GV70 are carbon fiber inserts, plus ventilation for the rear seats and activation of the driver profile using a fingerprint sensor.

The crossovers are likely to reach Russian dealers this fall. Well, the older Genesis GV80 today will cost 4,800,000 — 7,050,000 rubles.
