Haval H-Dog 2023.

At the Motor Show in Chengdu, China, the Haval company has introduced a new crossover H-Dog.

This is the next representative of the so-called «dog» family, which already includes models DaGou and KuGou.

The novelty is the largest car in the lineup, but in the published photos it looks compact enough.

This is the merit of the brand’s designers who did a good job on the proportions of its body.

Like the other «dogs», the car has a brutal exterior with a strict «face» and angular arches, which are decorated with 19-inch wheels.

The interior design of the car also repeats that of the DaGou / KuGou. There is a virtual dashboard with an additional upper sector and a large multimedia display.

On the passenger side, the front panel also has a massive handrail.

The flagship crossover Haval H-Dog is preparing for the start of sales.

The brand itself has announced only plug-in hybrid version, but it is already known that the SUV will also have a «traditional» version with a gasoline two-liter turbo engine.

World premiere of the crossover Haval H-Dog took place in August last year at the Motor Show in Chengdu.

Now the brand began to actively promote the model: it also demonstrated at exhibitions in Guangzhou (held from December 30, 2022 to January 8, 2023) and Haikou (from 6 to 9 January), in addition, additional photos were published.

In China, sales of the SUV will start in the first quarter of this year. By the way, the brand continues to use the name H-Dog, but it is possible that on the market crossover still will be released under another name.

We shall remind you that this will be the third — and flagship — model in Haval’s family of brutal parkettes, it will join DaGou (aka Big Dog, and in the Russian Federation — Dargo) and KuGou (Cool Dog, in Russia is not officially represented).

Like other «dogs», the new SUV is built on the Lemon platform with a basic front-wheel drive.

The basis of Haval H-Dog 2023 is the same L.E.M.O.N. platform, on which other models of «dog» family are built.

This «bogie» is characterized by the presence of a transverse engine and the basic front wheel drive.

In this case H-Dog was the largest of the brothers, its length is 4705 mm, width — 1908 mm, height — 1780 mm, distance between the axles — 2810 mm. Clearance is claimed to be 200 mm.

For comparison, the dimensions of standard crossover Haval DaGou designed for Celestial (off-road version is still available on the native land of the brand): 4620/1910/1780 mm, wheelbase — 2738 mm (Haval KuGou is more compact).

Passport ground clearance of H-Dog is 200 mm, angle of entry is 24 degrees, exit is 30 degrees, and the claimed depth of ford — 560 mm.

Angles of entrance and exit are 24 and 30 degrees, respectively. And also the car is supposedly able to overcome a ford with a depth of up to 560 mm, that is, off-road potential of it is pretty good.

On the market the model debuts as a rechargeable hybrid with L.E.M.O.N. power plant. DHT.

In motion all-wheel drive crossover leads a 1.5-liter turbo engine and a pair of electric motors (one on each axis). In total these units produce 326 hp (530 Nm).

Exterior made in style of other crossovers of the family: the novelty has got branded round headlights, «square» wheel arches and exterior mirrors on separate legs.

Haval H-Dog features a sloping roof line and round taillights with mounted over wide horizontal sections.
