Hongqi H9 2023.

FAW’s Hongqi H9 2023 luxury sedan is coming to Russia, and it is not a parallel import.

The big «four-door» is already certified in Russia, that is, the Chinese concern, apparently, has decided to officially introduce its luxury sub-brand to our market.

In general, Russia is already supplying cars luxury brand Hongqi («Hunts» or «red flag»), which owns a Chinese company FAW, but we are talking about parallel import.

In the summer it was reported that the brand will be brought to our market officially.

Apparently the data turned out to be true: there is vehicle type approval (MVTS) for Hongqi H9 flagship sedan in base of Rosstandart.

The applicant is named LLC FAW Eastern Europe, which is also responsible for sales of FAW Bestune T77 and Besturn X40. The certificate is valid from December 22, 2022 to December 21, 2025.

According to the document, the cars will be delivered to us directly from China.

Recall, at home, the Hongqi H9 sedan debuted two years ago. «Four-door» is built on a rear-wheel drive platform with a longitudinal arrangement of the engine (own development of FAW).

Despite the appearance in the style of Rolls-Royce and Aurus, its dimensions of «four-door» is closer to the current Mercedes-Benz S-Class: the length of «Chinese» is 5137 mm, width — 1904 mm, height — 1493 mm, wheelbase — 3060 mm.

For comparison, the length of the Russian sedan Aurus Senat is 5630 mm and the distance between the axles is 3300 mm.

In Russia Hongqi H9 is certified with a single engine — a gasoline «turbo four» 2.0, which produces 245 hp and 380 Nm.

The engine is «powered» by AI-95 and comes with a seven-speed robotized transmission with two clutches.

In China, this engine also has a hybrid addition in the form of 48-volt starter-generator (252 hp and the same torque).

And also on the home market you can choose a sedan with a petrol turbo engine V6 3.0 (283 hp). The model is available only with rear-wheel drive.

In the Russian market it is planned to sell only five-seater H9, although in China the model in addition has a top version with two separate rear seats.

At home of the brand for sedan provided panoramic roof, seats with massage function, projection display, all-around view camera, adaptive cruise control — our version is likely to be equipped with the same.

The local division of FAW has not announced the appearance of Hongqi brand yet. It is possible that it will happen before the end of this year, and the luxury sedan H9 will probably go on sale in 2023.
