Jeep Grand Cherokee 2022.

The fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee 2022 is getting ready to go on sale. The Americans will be the first to get the novelty, so Russian fans in 2022 will have to settle for the current fourth generation.

There is a lot to look forward to — air suspension, a wide choice of gasoline engines with 238-468 horsepower, automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

Totally six options are available — Laredo, Limited, S Limited, Trackhawk, Overland, SRT at the price from 3,975 to 7,715 million rubles.

Among the brightest competitors are still such mastodons as the Porsche Macan and Toyota Highlander, as well as the Volkswagen Touareg.

Technical Specifications

Jeep Grand Cherokee 2022 in the new body offers six packages at once. Price and specifications will depend on the installed equipment and engines. Consider the photos of the model can be seen in the photos below.

Actual for Russia, the fourth-generation SUV is built on the basis of the UniFrame frame design. «The fifth» is presented with a new design — Giorgio.

The latter is also used for the main competitors — Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio. Due to the replacement the percentage of high-strength steel and aluminum in the overall design has increased, there are new safety systems.

It is too early to talk about the engine range of the Russian modification, but serious changes are not expected.

Available engines:

The base model is built on a powerful gasoline V6 with an output of 238 hp, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Fuel consumption stated by the manufacturer is 10.2 liters per hundred kilometers;

Middle version includes 3.6 liter V6 with 286 hp maximum power and fuel consumption of 10.2-10.4 liters per «hundred»;
As an alternative, there is a 5.7-liter gasoline engine with 347 hp and consumption of 13.0 liters;

For the sport modification a special petrol 6.4-liter «atmospheric» Hemi V8 with 468 hp has been prepared. Consumption was 14 liters per hundred kilometers, but acceleration time was reduced to 5 seconds;

Trackhawk version put on a 6.2-liter V8 HEMI with a mechanical supercharger, which puts this version of the SUV at the top position of the most powerful SUV in the history of the brand.

Together with an 8-speed automatic transmission, it produces 710 hp and acceleration is 3.7 seconds. Consumption is 16.8 liters per «hundredth».

Unfortunately, the latter is no longer sold on the Russian market. The Trackhawk «left» the price list in May 2021.

The dimensions of the fourth generation are fixed at:

length — 4,828 — 4,846 mm;
width — 1,943 — 1,945 mm;
height — 1 749 — 1 802 mm;
wheelbase — 2 915 mm.

The fifth-generation Grand Cherokee L turned out to be much larger — 5,204 mm in length and 3,091 mm in wheelbase.

This explains the «grown up» trunk, the volume of which in the «base» is 484 liters, without the third row — 1,328 liters, which is 300 more than the fourth generation, and with the first row of seats the volume grows to 2,396 liters.

Options and prices

For the Russian market announced six configurations — Laredo, Limited, S Limited, Trackhawk, Overland, SRT.

Laredo.
Despite the title of the basic package Laredo is considered a balanced assembly. It is equipped with a 3.0-liter engine with automatic transmission and manual gearshift option.

The starting price is 3,950,000 rubles. The amount includes large 18-inch wheels with 265/60 R18 tires on both axles.

Lighting equipment is represented by bi-xenon headlights and LED headlights. «Fog lights are available on both sides. Light and rain sensors are prepared to help the driver.

Side mirrors are equipped with heated and turn signal indicators. The dashboard has a 5.0-inch multifunctional display.

Next to it is the engine start button. Only the front seats are heated, but the climate control is set for two zones.

For the acoustic system is responsible six speakers and a USB connector. The LCD monitor in the center in the base assembly has a 5-inch diagonal, but an 8.0-inch tablet is available for extra charge. You can also pay extra for the rearview camera.

Limited
The Jeep Grand Cherokee 2022 Limited package is sold at a price of 4,435,000 rubles for the 238-hp engine. Along with it works all-wheel drive and «automatic». The price difference is due to the appearance of:

winter options;
electric trunk door;

5.0-inch screen on the dashboard;
leather upholstery;
heated steering wheel;

rear view camera.

The Limited package will become a pleasant acquisition for music lovers. The price lists the acoustic system with 9 speakers, subwoofer, amplifier, USB connector.

S Limited
The price for the modification with the initial 3.0-liter engine is 4,665,000 rubles. The S Limited variant is the only one available with a 5.7-liter 347 hp motor. — The price is 5,705,000 rubles.

The main differences include sporty design — 20-inch wheels, memory seats, perforated leather for upholstery, a panoramic roof with two panels as an option.

Trackhawk .
Since the 710-horsepower SUV has left the market, only one generation with a 3.6-liter engine remains in Russia at a price starting at 5,165,000 rubles.

Compared to its predecessor, the S Limited reduces the display diagonal to 5 inches. In the list of options: combined trim, ventilation of the front seats and heated rear seats. Increased safety systems are guaranteed by the Brake Assist System.

Overland
The Overland package with a 3.0-liter engine will cost the buyer 4,825,000 rubles. Increase of the engine up to 286 hp raises the price up to 5 435 000 rubles.

Wheel disks «grow» up to 20 inches, there is a listed sunroof and factory toning. The interior has leather upholstery, but no navigation system.

SRT
The senior configuration is sold at a price of 7,175,000 rubles with a 6.4-liter engine at 468 hp and a four-wheel drive.

The high price is due not only to the power of the engine, but also to the appearance of the system of adaptive road lighting.

But the main «chip» of SUV is installation of the Harman Kardon audio system, 19 speakers with an 825-watt amplifier and a subwoofer. Bonus is a navigation system.

Design

Compared to the brutal third generation, the fourth generation has chosen a universal look, which came to the taste of Europeans.

Now the SUV cannot be called purely «male» because it is suitable for women as well. On the other hand, by going streamlined, Jeep undermined its own credibility of tradition.

The front end is equipped with LED headlights and the company’s radiator grille with vertical blocks. The fog lights look neat.

In order to «pull» the novelty to the branded look, not only the grille was kept, but also a hint of a square shape. The proportions remained the same, and the wheel rims are presented with a diameter of 18-20 inches.

The interior has received premium trim materials. It also hosts the lack of modern systems, such as multimedia on 5 or 8.4 inches, depending on the configuration.

There is also a fully digital dashboard and multifunction steering wheel. Changes have been made to the transmission knob and the roomy armrest.
