KIA EV6 electric crossover will start selling in Russia in 2022.

KIA will start selling its electric cars on the Russian market, and it will happen already in two thousand and twenty-second.

It is expected that next year we will have a crossover EV6. The latter was introduced at the beginning of the 21st and will be Kia’s first model based on the new E-GMP electric platform (which will form the basis of a family of battery-powered cars in the future).

KIA EV6 2022 specification for Russia is still unknown, but in the global range of all-terrain vehicles there are versions with power from 170 to 585 hp.

There are also two choices of traction batteries with a capacity of 58 or 77.4 kWh.

Plus, the electric car can have both rear and all-wheel drive. It is known that at first the crossover will be offered exclusively in Moscow and St. Petersburg showrooms, but then the Koreans will systematically expand its sales geography.

It is expected that official dealers of the South Korean brand will contribute to creation of branded charging stations KIA.

In addition, the electric car may be included in the company’s «KIA Flex» car subscription service.

How much the EV6 will cost in our market — is not known yet, but in Germany it can be purchased at a price of 45,000 euros (3.7 million rubles at the current exchange rate).

The Koreans do not plan to limit themselves to just one crossover, so other electric cars of the brand will also appear in Russia in the future.

KIA EV6: electric crossover hatch from Koreans

At the end of March twenty-first Kia completely declassified electric all-terrain hatchback EV6, which became the first production model of the South Korean brand, made in a new corporate style.

This electric car is fundamentally different from previous vehicles of the brand. In particular, there is no branded grille «Tiger Nose» and the «face» itself is made in the style called «Digital Tiger Face».

By the way, the characteristic design of the running lights resembles a «digital tiger face».

The new KIA EV6 has unusual body proportions with a low hood and long wheelbase.

The developers managed to achieve them due to the peculiarities of the E-GMP electric platform. As for the interior, the electric car has the upholstery made of recycled materials, as well as 12.3-inch displays of digital dashboard and multimedia system, placed on a single panel without a visor.

Plus, the model is put on a large projection screen with an augmented reality effect, superimposing navigation cues directly on the road.

Also characteristic of the five-door is the presence of a block of «hot» touch keys with two rotating handles on the sides.

It is located under the central air deflectors and is used to control the main functions of the car.

Note that the specialists of the Korean brand did not completely abandon the analog buttons in the cabin, retaining the physical keys on the steering wheel, a block to the left of it and the central tunnel, which is separated from the front panel.

The KIA EV6 is based on the E-GMP electric modular platform, on which the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is also based.

Overall length of the cross-hatch is 4,680 mm, the size of its wheelbase — 2,900, width — 1,880, height — 1,550 millimeters.

The claimed volume of trunk «under the curtain» is 520 liters. Having folded back seats, the capacity of a compartment can be increased up to 1 300 liters. In this case the electric car has one more luggage compartment in front.

On rear-wheel drive cars its capacity is 52 liters, and on all-wheel drive cars its capacity is only 20 liters.

Five different modifications are announced for the new Kia EV6, with curb weight ranging from 1.8 to 2.0 tons.

The base version of the Standard Range has an electric motor located on the rear axle with 170 horsepower (350 Nm). (350 Nm) and traction battery capacity of 58 kWh.

Cruising range of this car is 400 km. There are two electric motors on a more advanced all-wheel drive model. In total they develop 235 horsepower (605 Nm). The battery is the same, but range is a little less — 380 km.
